recently, nio announced a new charging model for its battery swap service. compared with the previous fixed service fee, the new battery swap fee is related to the number of batteries swapped by the user. according to the original battery swap fee formula, it is service fee (30/50 yuan/time) + electricity fee * number of batteries swapped = final battery swap fee, which has nothing to do with the number of batteries swapped.

however, nio officials believe that this will cause some users to replace the battery only when the battery is as empty as possible, and they are unwilling to replace the battery when the battery level is above 20%. this will cause certain inconveniences and lack of flexibility.

after the adjustment, nio officially provided two battery replacement cost models.

option 1: battery replacement fee = basic service fee (9.9 yuan/time) + (electricity fee + service fee (charged at the time of price)) * number of kilowatt-hours of battery replacement

solution 2: one-time battery replacement fee = (electricity fee + service fee (charged at the current price)) * number of kilowatt-hours replaced. this solution saves 9.9 yuan of basic service fee compared to the previous one.

however, it is worth mentioning that when the amount of electricity exchanged does not reach the set minimum amount of electricity exchanged (20 degrees), the corresponding service fee will be charged according to the minimum amount of electricity exchanged, and the electricity fee will be calculated based on the actual amount of electricity exchanged.

editor says:there is no doubt that with the new plan, nio will be able to better control its own costs, but at the same time, the cost of use will also rise to a certain extent for users. especially for bass users, while paying for the rental fee, the cost of replacing the battery will also increase, which undoubtedly increases the pressure on car use.

moreover, after the price increase, the price of battery swapping is actually close to that of charging, but the speed of battery swapping still has certain advantages. of course, this is only limited to the situation where the nearest battery swapping station has enough batteries and there is no need to queue. so, after the price of battery swapping has been adjusted, do you think nio's battery swapping solution is still attractive enough to you?
