in response to the above issues, on august 30, nio officially released the 318 sichuan-tibet line battery swap line layout plan. it plans to build 9 new battery swap stations based on the 5 battery swap stations that have been built along the route, to realize the connection of the battery swap line from chengdu to tibet, allowing users to swap batteries all the way to the everest base camp.
the reporter learned that in december 2020, the country's first sichuan-tibet fast-charging route was completed. nio built 14 charging stations along the way, allowing users to charge all the way to tibet and directly reach the everest base camp at an altitude of 5,200 meters. so far, nio has built a total of 31 charging stations along the way to further facilitate users' travel to tibet.
while enabling charging all the way to tibet on the 318 sichuan-tibet highway, nio continues to increase the layout of the battery swap network along the route to provide users with a more convenient charging experience. at present, nio has built 36 charging and swap stations along the 318 sichuan-tibet highway, including chengdu (starting point), ya'an, tianquan, nyingchi, and lhasa. on this basis, nio plans to build 9 new battery swap stations along the 318 sichuan-tibet highway in xinduqiao, litang, batang, zuogong, basu, bomi, gongbu gyamda, shigatse, and dingri, with an average station spacing of 223 kilometers, allowing users to swap batteries all the way to tibet along the 318 sichuan-tibet highway.
on this basis, nio also plans to build new charging piles and battery swap stations in each county-level administrative region in sichuan province. it plans to achieve charging access in all 183 county-level administrative regions in sichuan before june 30, 2025, so that every county will have nio's charging piles and battery swap stations.
as of august 30, nio has built 2,495 battery swap stations, 3,965 charging stations and 23,100 charging piles across the country, providing more than 45.63 million charging services and more than 51 million battery swap services to users across the industry, connecting 80 "charging scenic routes" including three routes into tibet from sichuan, qinghai and yunnan, the duku highway, and the kanas line.
