di dongdong won the gold medal in the men's t11 long jump final and broke the world record; lu dong won the gold medal in the mixed men's and women's 4×50m freestyle (20 points) relay final and broke the world record; zhang xiaotong won the silver medal in the women's s11 400m freestyle and broke the asian record.
in the early morning of august 31st, beijing time, in the men's t11 long jump final, di dongdong defended his gold medal with an absolute advantage of 6.85 meters and broke the world record that had been untouched for ten years. this gold medal is the first gold medal won by disabled athletes from our province representing the national team in this paris paralympic games. it is also the second gold medal for di dongdong and our province in the men's t11 long jump event at the paralympic games.
in the mixed men's and women's 4×50m freestyle (20 minutes) relay final, liaoning athletes achieved another success. veteran lu dong and teammates peng qiuping, yuan weiyi, jiang yuyan, guo jincheng, wang lichao and he shenggao formed a team to compete, and they worked well together and finally won the gold medal with a time of 2 minutes 14.98 seconds. this result also broke the world record previously held by the chinese team, winning the second gold medal for our province in this paralympic games.
