On August 20, a video of a Deep Blue SL03 that was suspected to have hit a lifted floor tile and caught fire instantly circulated online. In the early morning of August 21, Deep Blue Auto CEO responded to the incident, saying that the accident was caused by the sharp corners of the stone tile tearing the battery bottom plate, piercing two battery cells and causing the fire, "which extinguished itself after 25 seconds, and only two battery cells were burned, ensuring the personal and property safety of users."

In a surveillance video with a time stamp of August 18, a new energy car was seen bumping while driving slowly, with the car body lifted off the ground. It then stopped, caught fire, and the people in the car got out. After more than 20 seconds, the burning seemed to have ended, and no open flames could be seen in the video.

On the evening of the 20th, Jimu News reporter called DeepBlue Auto customer service, and the staff said they had not received any relevant information. Then the reporter sent the above video to DeepBlue Auto customer service.

Mr. Sun, a car reviewer, told reporters that there are three main reasons for new energy vehicles to catch fire: first, the vehicle is damaged during daily driving, causing the battery to catch fire due to high voltage; second, the vehicle is caught fire due to poor quality control; third, the floor is lifted up and hits the battery during driving, causing the vehicle to catch fire. "From the video, the thermal management of the vehicle was good. Only one module was burned, and it was extinguished after burning. There was no chain reaction that caused the whole vehicle to burn," said Mr. Sun.

In the early morning of the 21st, DeepBlue Auto CEO Deng Chenghao responded to the incident on Weibo, saying: Because the tire of the vehicle pressed against the hollow and damaged stone bricks, the stone bricks lifted up and just supported the vehicle chassis. The vehicle violently flew into the air and fell. The sharp corners of the stone bricks directly tore the battery bottom plate, pierced two battery cells, and the battery cells caught fire. Because the battery bottom plate was severely damaged and the seal failed, an open fire appeared under the chassis.

Deng Chenghao mentioned that thanks to the large amount of fireproof, heat-insulating, smoke-control and cooling design of the Deep Blue Super Range Extender Battery, the fire on the chassis of the accident vehicle extinguished itself within 25 seconds, and only two battery cells were burned, ensuring the personal and property safety of users. "The Golden Bell Battery withstood the test. After the accident, the car computer and the background big data security platform immediately reported the alarm. We contacted the customer and confirmed the safety of the process." Deng Chenghao said.
