Blingame, the developer of the domestic Metroidvania game "Brave Hack", encountered headache-inducing technical obstacles when trying to port the game to Xbox, and eventually they had to give up.
"Brave Hack" is a post-apocalyptic wasteland platform action game that combines elements of the Metroidvania. You need to use the multi-functional energy hook to combine unique skills, solve layers of puzzles through flexible positioning and subtle timing of attacks, and dig out the ultimate secrets of this post-apocalyptic world in the process of continuous exploration.
Recently, Blingame officially released a post in response to questions about the progress of porting Brave Hack to Xbox and PlayStation platforms. The official said that the porting of the PlayStation version is progressing smoothly, but they have given up on the Xbox version porting because many loopholes in the Microsoft Partner Center have made the process a nightmare.
"We encountered many technical obstacles when porting our game to Xbox," Blingame said. "What seemed like a simple port turned into a nightmare because there were many bugs in the Microsoft Partner Center that prevented us from completing account registration, and even Microsoft's support service system had errors that prevented us from submitting feedback on the issues we encountered. This is incredible for developers."
Blingame contacted Xbox, but they were unable to help because this was apparently outside of their area of responsibility and seemed to be Microsoft's problem. "In fact, it took less than two weeks to port our game to Xbox, but it took us 14 months to apply for game release and complete Microsoft partner status registration. This experience was very bad, and although we really wanted to make Brave Hack available to Xbox players, our development funds were limited and we couldn't wait any longer. Therefore, we finally decided to give up the Xbox platform."
