Recently, Beijing Capital Airlines' second A330 passenger-to-freighter aircraft has been officially put into operation. The aircraft has a maximum payload of 61 tons and a maximum range of 7,800 kilometers. The cabin is equipped with a crew rest area, oven, kettle and other facilities. Currently, this A330 freighter operates the Nanchang-Oslo route every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, importing fresh food such as Norwegian salmon and Belgian chocolate, making Nanchang a fresh food import distribution center in the central region.
It is reported that Capital Airlines currently operates two A330 freighters, which fly 12 round trips per week between Liege, Brussels, Oslo and other places, with a daily utilization rate of 15 hours. The goods transported include fresh food, auto parts, processed plastics, precision instruments, etc.
In 2024, Capital Airlines will actively expand new cargo business to seize market opportunities. As an important channel connecting production and consumption, the aviation logistics industry has developed rapidly, and market demand has increased year by year. Capital Airlines has taken the initiative to build an independent cargo operation system, relying on the domestic route network and flight belly cargo transfer advantages, giving play to the role of air cargo in stabilizing the industrial chain and ensuring the supply chain, and contributing to the high-quality construction of the strategic industrial system of capital aviation cargo.
By 2025, Capital Airlines plans to operate four A330 cargo aircraft, including two all-freighters and two passenger-to-cargo aircraft. The annual cargo volume is expected to be 25,000 tons, which will effectively promote the development of air cargo and logistics transportation in Beijing and surrounding areas.
