"our team is preparing for the national college students baja competition in october. this baja racing car for the competition was independently made by our team." on september 18, huang, who participated in the design and production of this off-road vehicle, told jiupai news that the racing car was independently designed and produced by the "optical valley wings" team of wuhan software engineering vocational college. it is currently in the testing and improvement stage and has undergone three rounds of testing and debugging.

"the gears, gear ratios, frame, suspension and other components in the differential were all designed by ourselves. we also went to the processing plant ourselves, and the entire vehicle was completed within two months." huang said that he majored in vehicle engineering, and his professional knowledge played an important role in this production process.

he said that in order to ensure the safety of the car, the frame is made of high-strength br1500 steel pipes, and the car is equipped with a 5-point safety belt and a fire extinguisher. before each test run, the team will conduct a strict safety inspection. before getting on the car, the driver must wear protective gear, including hand bags, gloves, helmets, neck guards, etc., and ensure that the seat belt is pulled as tight as possible.

the process of preparing for the competition was full of challenges. huang admitted: "during the assembly of the differential, there are often discrepancies between the design and the actual production. although the simulation is successful on the computer, there are still problems in the actual assembly." he recalled that once during the automatic test, the automatic pedal was not fixed properly, and the team rushed to re-weld it overnight. fortunately, it passed the test smoothly the next morning.

huang said this was not the first time the team had participated in the competition. "under the leadership of team leader dai shixiang, the team members worked day and night and won the third place in the national electric baja competition in may."
