according to fast technology on september 7, new energy vehicles are booming, but with it comes the serious convergence of designs. at first glance, basically, they have closed front faces, through-light groups, etc., there is really no novelty and no recognition.

in fact, traditional car companies have a lot of classic cars. they only need to be modified in a targeted manner to become very unique designs. recently, renault launched an electric car based on a classic car, and the overall design is eye-catching.

the car was jointly created by renault and french designer ora ïto and is scheduled to be unveiled at the paris motor show in october.the prototype is based on the renault 17 coupe launched in 1971., but renault has introduced a modern electrified powertrain for it.

compared with the original version, the renault r17 body has been stretched by 6.7 inches (about 17 cm) and adopts a new carbon fiber chassis. the original doors, windows and chassis structure are retained, the design is sharper, and a pair of slender rectangular light strips are used to replace the round headlights of the original car. it is retro and has a good sense of technology.

at the same time, the grille has also been redesigned, and the shutters behind the side windows can be more naturally integrated into the overall design of the body. it also has wheels similar to vinyl records, and the taillights are composed of a simple led light strip.

renault says the electric r17 weighs about 3,086 pounds and features a unique galaxy brown paint scheme that the company developed for the car.

in terms of interior, the renault r17 cockpit is different from the original model. a square steering wheel replaces the original round steering wheel, and four display screens at the back replace the 17 instruments of the original model, while the central control screen is installed under the dashboard.

in addition, its seats have also been redesigned and are upholstered in brown merino wool and beige wool bouquer fabric, which looks particularly textured.

power part, the car is equipped with a 270-horsepower rear electric motor and has a range of 248 miles (about 400 kilometers).it should be noted that this car is currently only in the concept stage, but renault said that if consumers have high demand, it can consider mass production and hopes to retain as many design elements of the concept car as possible.
