On August 20, the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee and the Guangdong Provincial People's Government issued a notice to reward the athletes and coaches who won the 33rd Summer Olympic Games and related units, and to give the first to third place athletes and their coaches a great merit award; the fourth to sixth place athletes and their coaches a great merit award; and the seventh and eighth place athletes and their coaches a commendation award. Article 6 stipulates that staff members and collectives of public institutions may be commended, awarded merit, given great merit, and granted titles.
(1) Those who have outstanding performance, made significant contributions, and played an exemplary role in their units shall be commended;
(2) Those who have made breakthrough achievements, made significant contributions, and have had a significant impact in their region, industry, or field shall be awarded merit;
(3) Those who have made major breakthroughs, outstanding contributions, and have had a significant impact in their region, industry, or field shall be awarded a great merit;
(4) Those who have made outstanding contributions will be awarded titles.
The awarding of titles and honorary titles shall be carried out in accordance with the relevant provisions of the "Regulations on Commendation for Merit and Honor within the Communist Party of China", the "Regulations on Commendation for National Merit and Honor" and other relevant regulations.
Article 13 stipulates that staff members and collectives of public institutions who have made outstanding achievements and contributions in responding to major emergencies and completing major special tasks should be rewarded in a timely manner.
Article 16 stipulates that the award decision unit shall issue an award certificate to staff members and collectives of public institutions who have received commendations, merits, or great merits; and for those who have received merits or great merits, medals shall be awarded to individuals and plaques to collectives. Award certificates, medals, and plaques shall be uniformly produced or supervised by the comprehensive personnel management departments of public institutions at or above the provincial (autonomous region, municipality) level in accordance with the style, specifications, and texture prescribed by the comprehensive personnel management departments of central public institutions. The relevant approval materials for awards shall be stored in the personnel files of the cadres themselves and the document files of the unit respectively.
Article 17 stipulates that a one-time bonus shall be given to staff members of public institutions who have been commended, commended, or commended for great merit. The region or unit where the award-winning personnel are located may add other material rewards upon approval. The funds required for the approved rewards shall be solved through the existing funding channels of the relevant units and shall not be included in the total performance salary of the unit where the staff member is located.
