2024 Fortune Global 500 released, 10 Chinese automakers on the list

Specifically, the rankings of China's major private automakers, such as BYD, Geely and Chery, including CATL, have all increased significantly compared with last year; the rankings of most state-owned automakers have declined compared with last year.

Among them, SAIC Motor has been in the top 100 of the Fortune Global 500 for 11 consecutive years and is the only Chinese automaker with revenue exceeding US$100 billion. However, it ranks 93rd in the overall list this year, down 9 places from last year.

China FAW Group Corporation continues to rank second among Chinese automakers, and its overall ranking this year is 129th, up 2 places from last year.

Thanks to its excellent performance last year, BYD's ranking jumped to 143rd (3rd among Chinese automakers), up 69 places from last year; also as a representative of private automakers, Geely Holding Group (5th among Chinese automakers) also rose 40 places in its overall ranking this year (184th) from last year.

GAC Group continued to rank fourth among Chinese automakers this year, but its overall ranking was 181st, down 16 places from last year; BAIC Group's overall ranking was 192nd, up 1 place from last year, but its ranking among Chinese automakers remained unchanged; Dongfeng Motor Group ranked 240th this year, down 52 places from last year; Changan Automobile's parent company, China North Industries Group Corporation, ranked 343rd, down 2 places from last year.

It is worth mentioning that this year is the first time that Chery Holding Group has entered the Fortune Global 500 list, ranking 385th.

CATL is the only Chinese auto parts manufacturer on this year's list. After making its debut last year, it ranks 250th this year, up 42 places from last year.

In addition, Huawei and Xiaomi, which recently joined the car manufacturing track, also entered this year's Fortune Global 500 list. Huawei ranked 103rd this year, up 8 places from last year; Xiaomi ranked 397th this year, down 37 places from last year.

Looking at the world, the top ten automakers in the Fortune Global 500 this year are Volkswagen Group (11),ToyotaAutomobile (15), Stellantis (28),Ford(36), General Motors (39),BMWGroup (41),Mercedes Benz(42)、HondaAutomotive (57), Mitsubishi Corporation (including Mitsubishi Motors Headquarters) (65) and Hyundai Motor (73).
