[Global Network Technology Comprehensive Report] On July 21, according to the latest data analysis released by Cui Dongshu, secretary-general of the China Passenger Car Association, the number of public charging piles in China in June 2024 increased significantly by 72,300 from the previous month. This growth rate is not only higher than the level of previous months, but also 12% faster than the same period last year.

Cui Dongshu pointed out that according to the data of the China Charging Alliance compiled by the China Passenger Car Association, the rapid growth in the number of public charging piles in June 2024 further consolidated China's position as the world's largest electric vehicle market. At the same time, the annual cumulative increase in public charging piles has reached 400,000, a year-on-year growth rate of 13%, showing the continued steady development of charging infrastructure construction.

In line with the rapid growth of public charging piles, the number of private charging piles installed on vehicles has also increased significantly. In June, the number of private charging piles installed on vehicles increased by 247,000 from the previous month, and the growth rate was 7 percentage points faster than that in June 2023. The annual cumulative increase in private charging piles reached 1.25 million, a year-on-year growth rate of 15%, further promoting the popularization and application of new energy vehicles.

In terms of charging volume, the public charging pile charging volume reached 456,000 kWh in June, a significant increase over the same period last year, and the average monthly charging volume per pile reached 1,461 kWh, an increase of 6% over June last year. This shows that the utilization rate of public charging piles is constantly increasing, and the operational efficiency of charging infrastructure is also gradually improving.

Cui Dongshu stressed that in recent years, China's charging infrastructure has developed rapidly, and has built the world's largest charging infrastructure system with the widest service scope and the most complete types. At present, according to the calculation that one public charging pile corresponds to three private charging piles, the ratio of pure electric vehicles to charging piles in China's incremental market in 2024 has reached 1:1.
