yesterday (26th), the wtt china grand slam qualifying tournament started. inside and outside the stadium, volunteers full of youthful vitality have become a beautiful sight. this team of 412 "composite" volunteers with rich service experience, outstanding professional abilities, and excellent foreign language skills will provide services throughout the event.
entering the shougang park, visitors can see the event volunteer service station when they come to liugonghui and shougang international convention and exhibition center. the two sites follow the urban volunteer service booths from the winter olympics. the appearance of the packaging is redesigned based on the main visual style of wtt. it is clear and eye-catching while also highlighting fashionable vitality. the stations are located at important traffic intersections outside the stadium. a total of 30 volunteers provide guidance, information consultation, language services, emergency rescue, cultural dissemination and other services to off-site spectators and tourists.
qin ling, a volunteer who took up the post that day, said: "i have volunteered in international sports events such as the speed skating world cup (beijing) before, and accumulated a certain amount of experience in volunteering in sports events. at the same time, i started learning table tennis when i was 12 years old. with 10 years of experience in watching and playing games, i cherish this opportunity to volunteer and hope to apply my previous volunteering skills and experience in this service.”
the venue for the qualifying competition that day was hall 2, which was a sports hall converted from a short track speed skating hall. walking into the stadium, the entire auditorium was almost full, the atmosphere was warm, and the viewing order was orderly. volunteers stand at the entrance of the venue, auditorium and medical support points, responsible for ticket verification, guiding people to sit down, assisting with medical services, maintaining order in the venue, etc.
at the competition site, liu zhipeng, a volunteer from beijing foreign studies university, stayed in the referee area and used his language expertise to provide relevant services to chinese and foreign referees and athletes. "the atmosphere on the first day of the competition was lively, especially when the chinese players entered the stadium, the audience burst into loud cheers. although i kept standing at the scene, the atmosphere infected me and i didn't feel tired at all. . i can clearly feel that everyone from the audience to the athletes, from the referees to the volunteers is very enthusiastic. we volunteers are working hard to do their jobs and contribute to the success of the event."
there are also about 80 volunteers working in areas invisible to ordinary spectators during this event. for example, at the news promotion post, they provide translation consultation, media reception and other services to reporters; at the arrival and departure center post, security and transportation post, volunteers we provide attentive services such as airport pick-up and drop-off for athletes, translation and consultation. with their enthusiastic, professional and responsible attitude, they demonstrated the good image of beijing volunteers in front of domestic and foreign athletes, media, guests, etc.
