the "xin hai sturgeon" is currently the world's largest and china's first large-scale trailing suction dredger that uses lng (liquefied natural gas) dual-fuel power. the ship is 155.7 meters long, 32 meters wide and 13.5 meters deep. the maximum designed mud tank capacity is 16,808 cubic meters and is equipped with a 1,550 cubic meter lng double-ear tank.
the main engine, auxiliary generator and boiler of the "new sturgeon" are all lng dual-fuel type. through the most advanced "power control center", the "one-to-two" compound drive mode meets the power needs of the ship under various working conditions such as navigation, dredging, mud throwing, and shore blowing. in gas mode, the ship can reduce 80% of nitrogen oxides and 20% of carbon dioxide emissions, eliminate sulfur oxides and particulate matter emissions, meet the emission requirements of the international maritime organization imo tier ⅲ, and has significant characteristics such as "green, environmental protection, energy saving, and safety". the ship's performance, environmental protection indicators, and technical level have reached the international leading level.
it is reported that the "new sturgeon" is not only equipped with conventional trailing suction dredger information systems such as automatic tracking, dredging control, and full-ship power management, but also installed with the most advanced and intelligent "one-key dredging" and "dredging and driving in one" systems in china, which will realize the "unmanned dredging" function under typical working conditions in china for the first time. at the same time, it is equipped with a comprehensive intelligent management platform, integrating intelligent cabin, intelligent navigation, intelligent energy efficiency management and other systems, and effectively improving the intelligent management level of the whole ship through the integrated design, installation and control of the whole ship.
during the period, the groundbreaking ceremony of the 25,000-cubic-meter ultra-large trailing suction hopper dredger was held at shanghai zhenhua heavy industries qidong offshore engineering co., ltd. the ship is the first ultra-large self-propelled trailing suction hopper dredger in china to adopt a distributed in-cabin mud pump design. it is widely used in deep-sea sand extraction and coastal deep-water port channel dredging, filling and coastal maintenance projects. the intelligent function configuration of the whole ship has reached the world-class level.
