on september 13, the 2024 china motorcycle expo was held in chongqing. honda motorcycle announced more strategic layouts while bringing new products. this year, honda motorcycle sales (shanghai) co., ltd. signed a joint venture contract with gac group and sundiro group. starting from january 2025, on the basis of operating honda's large-displacement imported motorcycle business, it will sell medium-displacement motorcycles produced by wuyang-honda and sundiro honda.

zhu linjie:the consumption environment of china's motorcycle market is quite special, such as the policy environment and consumers' perception of motorcycles. we have noticed that enterprises, associations and the government are trying to provide more support for the development of motorcycles; users are also more positive about motorcycles, no longer thinking that riding a motorcycle is dangerous, and no longer thinking that motorcycles are just a tool for enjoyment.

zhu linjie:i think china has many advanced technologies in the fields of intelligence and electrification, and there is great potential for upgrading motorcycle products in this area. however, due to the differences between motorcycle and car driving scenarios, we still need to continue to observe the development of the entire industry. motorcycle companies should combine their own application scenarios and user driving needs to integrate intelligence and electrification.
taking honda as an example, we are working with local chinese technology companies to localize honda smartphone connectivity technology, and plan to install it in our products early next year.
shell finance:under the new circumstances, what strategic layout do you have for the chinese market?
zhu linjie:we have established honda motorcycle sales (shanghai) co., ltd. in shanghai. while taking over the sales of honda's large-displacement imported models, we will cooperate with wuyang-honda and sundiro honda to start operations in 2025 and be responsible for the sales of medium-displacement models produced by the two companies. in terms of brand, honda can define the trademark for medium-displacement and above models, and we will carry out some activities to enhance honda's brand influence in the future.
