■ the meeting pointed out that we must adhere to the spirit of general secretary xi jinping's important expositions on aging work as the fundamental guideline, earnestly unify our thoughts and actions with the decisions and arrangements of the party central committee, and grasp the correct political direction of aging work. we must uphold the party's overall leadership over aging work, better play the party's core leadership role in taking overall charge and coordinating all parties, and gather a strong synergy to promote the high-quality development of aging work. we must adhere to the people-centered development philosophy, take more measures to benefit the people's livelihood and warm the hearts of the people, and let the elderly enjoy a happy old age. we must persist in deepening reform while maintaining integrity and innovation, and strive to explore a path with chinese characteristics to actively respond to population aging.

■ the meeting stressed that we must deeply understand the new situation, new tasks and new requirements of my country's aging population, seize strategic opportunities, follow the trend and actively respond. we must deeply understand the strategic intention of institutional reform, accurately grasp the responsibilities and positioning of aging work in the new era, and promote the formation of a new situation in which multiple subjects share responsibilities, aging risks are dealt with in stages, and everyone participates in the cause of aging.

■ the meeting pointed out that we must fully implement the decisions and arrangements of the cpc central committee and the state council. with system construction as the main line, we should pay more attention to system integration, mechanism construction, and reform orientation, and improve the national strategic implementation mechanism. we should enhance political awareness, service awareness, and responsibility awareness, and give full play to the responsibilities and roles of the aging committees and aging offices at all levels. we should strengthen our knowledge of responsibilities and fulfill our duties, and increase our efforts in rights protection, social respect for the elderly, social participation, elderly care services, social assistance and security, and the construction of a livable environment for the elderly. we should strengthen infrastructure construction, further enhance grassroots work forces, and promote innovation in the governance of an aging society.

■ the meeting emphasized that we must accelerate the implementation of key tasks throughout the year and scientifically plan next year's work tasks. we must focus on the work that is of concern to the masses, urgent needs, and social attention, and is most closely related to the implementation of national strategies and most in line with reality, and increase policy supply in areas that are of greatest concern to the elderly, such as meal assistance, medical treatment, social interaction, care for the disabled, and palliative care. we must better coordinate development and security, complete the established goals and tasks with high quality, and make every effort to create a new situation of high-quality development of the elderly cause.
