"during the early morning assault, three enemy panther tanks launched a counterattack against the 3rd battalion. the enemy launched a fierce fire attack on our tanks while retreating to the southwest. at 09:30, the enemy launched a new attack from the direction of mogyorad with 12 tigers and panthers. in the fierce exchange of fire, our brigade lost 6 t-34s burned and 1 damaged."

the post-battle report of the 27th tank brigade stated that the unit had engaged in combat with 15 german panthers and tigers. however, the fhh division actually had only 5 panthers available that day.

the 9th ss mountain corps, the superior unit of the fhh division, described the combat situation in the division's defense zone on december 14 in a report sent to the 6th army:

"the enemy's regimental-level attack on volta from the north and northeast was repelled. other battalion-level attacks were also repelled. of the enemy's nine tanks, our troops destroyed eight."

the fhh division cleared the soviet tanks before noon and forced them to retreat to the north side of the road. the 27th brigade lost 8 tanks, 7 of which were irreparable.

the 27th tank brigade was slaughtered under the side fire of the ambushed panthers. most of the 9 t-34s that rushed across the railway were destroyed. the vast snowfield was filled with burning tanks. the battle was over soon. the 27th tank brigade lost 8 tanks, including 7 t-34s and 1 su-85. except for 1 t-34 that was damaged and survived, the rest were all burned. however, the soviet tank crews suffered minor losses, with only 3 killed and 12 injured. this shows that most of the crews of the 6 t-34s and 1 su-85 that were burned escaped, and even more than half of them were unscathed.

on december 15, the 7th guards army tank and mechanized forces command revised the losses of the 27th guards brigade on december 14. the su-85 that was previously recorded as burned was confirmed to be not 100% completely burned and was included in the overhaul. and one damaged t-34 was eventually confirmed to be unrepairable. therefore, the total losses of the 27th guards tank brigade on december 14 were 7 completely destroyed t-34s and 1 severely damaged su-85 that could be restored through overhaul.

the fhh panzer division did not lose any panthers on december 14. in reports on the evening of that day and on the 15th, all five panthers were still fully combat-ready.

the battle of volt-mogyorad was a very successful battle for the panthers of the fhh division. it destroyed nearly 8 tanks of the 27th brigade with almost no losses, 7 of which were completely lost. of course, this was the inevitable result of accurately using ambush and defensive tactics and developing firepower advantages. together with a series of actions such as the town of vác, it can be said that although the fhh division was born at the wrong time and the general situation was over after its third rebirth, it was still able to win excellent tactical victories in local areas.

however, the script of the reborn god of war is far from over. in hungary, the capital of the last ally, the panthers of the fhh division will have to go through hellish siege and street fighting, and more tests are still ahead.
