Changsha Evening News Changsha on Palm August 15 (All-media reporter Nie Yingrong and correspondent Jie Ziwei) Recently, the Ministry of Transport issued the "Notice on Doing a Good Job in the Special Pilot Tasks (First Batch) for Building a Green and Low-carbon Transportation Power" (hereinafter referred to as the "Notice"). After local applications, expert evaluation and solicitation of opinions, 61 special pilot tasks for building a green and low-carbon transportation power were selected into the first batch of pilot lists. The "Electric Hunan" electric cargo ship demonstration project was selected as a pilot for the promotion and application of new energy and clean energy ships.
According to the "Notice", the pilot list includes 5 comprehensive pilot tasks, 6 pilot tasks for transport structure adjustment and optimization, 3 pilot tasks for promoting urban green travel, 16 pilot tasks for resource conservation and intensive utilization of road and waterway infrastructure, 17 pilot tasks for energy conservation and carbon reduction of road and waterway infrastructure, 6 pilot tasks for the promotion and application of new energy and clean energy vehicle equipment, and 8 pilot tasks for the promotion and application of new energy and clean energy ships.
It is reported that the "Electric Hunan" electric cargo ship demonstration project was initiated by the Hunan Provincial Department of Transportation, and the project pilot implementation units are Hunan Green Electric Transportation Technology Co., Ltd. and Hunan Ocean Shipping Container Transport Co., Ltd.
The project aims to respond to the national "dual carbon" strategic goal and promote the green and low-carbon transformation of Hunan's inland shipping. The project will rely on Hunan's resource advantages and industrial foundation, promote the green and standardized development of Hunan's inland container "water shuttle bus", focus on the development of electric ships, create a demonstration route for electric container ships from Chenglingji Port to Changsha Port (160km), and create an application scenario for water-land intermodal battery-swap heavy trucks to achieve green water-land intermodal transportation, providing a replicable and popularizable "Hunan model" for the whole country.
The main contents of the project are to build new energy ships, develop ship battery systems, electronic control systems and electric propulsion systems, and build supporting facilities for charging and swapping. It is expected that before December this year, the project will complete the construction of two 208TEU electric distribution ships, as well as two ship charging and swapping stations in Chenglingji Port Area of Yueyang Port and Jixing Container Terminal of Changsha Port, and develop two container ship batteries and two container fuel range-extending power units. It is expected that before December 2026, the project will complete the construction of five charging and swapping stations in Xiangtan, Hengyang, Jinshi, Changde and Yiyang; complete the electrification transformation of 20 fuel ships; and form a batch of successful experiences that can be replicated and promoted.
