From the night of July 16 to July 17, heavy rainfall hit Baoji, Shaanxi, causing more than 70 disasters such as bridge damage, debris flow, road subsidence, and slope collapse in the Baoji-Chengdu Railway section. At about 1 a.m. on July 17, the Anhe Bridge between Fengzhou and Qiliping was damaged by floods, resulting in the suspension of traffic on the Baoji-Chengdu Railway.
After the flood, China Railway Xi'an Bureau Group Co., Ltd. immediately activated the emergency plan, set up a rescue team, mobilized excavators, loaders, cranes and other large-scale machinery to rush to the scene, adopted the "removal of the old + new construction" plan to repair the damaged Anhe Bridge, and carried out rescue work at the same time. With the concerted efforts of all participating units, the Baoji-Chengdu Railway was reopened to traffic.

The Baoji-Chengdu Railway, which connects Baoji, Shaanxi and Chengdu, Sichuan, is the first electrified railway in New China and was put into operation in 1958. Due to the limitations of terrain and construction conditions, the maximum operating speed of this railway is only 80 kilometers per hour. Currently, this railway line mainly runs freight trains and some passenger trains. (Source: Xinhua News Agency reporter Zhang Bin)
