IT Home reported on July 23 that according to CCTV News, citing information from the Aviation Industry Corporation of China, today (July 23), my country's independently developed large amphibious aircraft AG600 obtained the first Type Inspection Approval (TIA) of the AG600 aircraft issued by the Civil Aviation Airworthiness Certification Center of China. This marks that this type of aircraft has officially entered the authority's review and flight test stage, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent AG600 to complete its airworthiness certification.

According to IT Home, the AG600 is the world's largest amphibious aircraft under development, independently developed by my country. The AG600 amphibious aircraft adopts a single-hull, cantilevered upper wing layout; it is equipped with four WJ6 engines and uses a three-point retractable landing gear. When performing forest fire fighting tasks, the AG600 seaplane can draw 12,000 kilograms of water within 20 seconds. The aircraft can travel back and forth between the water source and the fire site multiple times to drop water to extinguish the fire. When performing water rescue missions, the aircraft has a minimum stable flight altitude of 50 meters, and can be moored on the water to carry out rescue operations, and can rescue up to 50 people in distress at a time.

The AG600 is a large-scale special-purpose civil aircraft independently developed to meet the urgent needs of forest fire fighting and water rescue. It is a major aviation equipment urgently needed for the construction of the national emergency rescue system. It lays the foundation for improving the supply capacity and level of domestic civil aircraft products, improving my country's civil aircraft development system and civil aircraft airworthiness. At the same time, the AG600 aircraft can also effectively improve the capabilities of my country's emergency rescue aviation equipment system.

At present, the AG600 aircraft has preliminarily completed water rescue mode verification, firefighting mission capability verification, high-cold ground test, night flight test, flight load calibration ground test, high temperature and high humidity flight test, etc. According to the plan, the AG600 aircraft will obtain the airworthiness certificate by the end of this year.
