recently, residents living in building 15, yanjingli middle street, balizhuang sub-district, chaoyang district, reported good news to our newspaper that a residents' self-governance team has been established in the community. through self-governance and self-management, the once messy carports and corridors have become clean and orderly.
residents told reporters that there are only two buildings, no. 15 and no. 17, in the courtyard. both are old buildings built in 1978 and have always been open communities. in order to prevent vehicles from being lost or getting wet in the rain, many residents push their bicycles into the corridor, which not only affects the corridor environment, but also blocks the fire escape, posing a safety hazard. in 2020, after understanding the residents' demands, the local authorities built a fence-type parking shed of about 90 square meters on the west side of building 15. however, as the number of electric vehicles gradually increases, new problems arise. "there are fewer bicycles in the community, but more electric vehicles. there is no place to charge them, so they can only go upstairs. everyone is also worried about safety hazards."
teng xiaoyu, party secretary of yanjingli community, said that there are about 100 households and more than 300 people in the community. after investigation, there are more than 40 electric vehicles. so after consulting the public, the street coordinated with the charging pile company to install 40 charging piles in the carport and equipped with fire extinguishing equipment, which basically met the charging needs of residents. "but the carport lacks management, and the situation of using the carport as a warehouse has repeatedly appeared. 'zombie cars' and stacked materials affect the use of charging piles." therefore, a resident self-governance team was established in the community to manage the charging carport.
mr. shi is a member of the resident self-governance team and also the leader. he said that the resident self-governance team currently has 6 members, who go to the carport twice a week to inspect and clean. if they find "zombie cars" or piles of materials, they will clean them up in time to ensure that the charging facilities are not occupied. in this way, everyone can park and charge conveniently, and the hidden dangers of charging upstairs are eliminated. "the effect of residents' self-governance and self-management is very significant. now everyone has gradually formed a habit. when parking, they will take the initiative to stack the vehicles neatly. the phenomenon of piling up sundries and long-term occupation is also much less than before." teng xiaoyu said.
