cctv news: at 12:00 on september 11, the test arrow of my country's independently developed reusable rocket zhuque-3 completed a 10-kilometer-level vertical take-off and landing return flight test at the jiuquan satellite launch center, marking a major breakthrough in my country's commercial aerospace technology for reusable launch vehicles. it is a key step towards realizing large-capacity, low-cost, high-frequency, reusable space launches in the future.

in this test, the rocket's engine was shut down about 113 seconds after takeoff, and the rocket flew to the highest point of 10,002 meters above the ground by inertia. after gliding for 40 seconds without power, the rocket's engine was re-ignited at 4.64 kilometers above the ground, and finally achieved a soft landing at the recovery field 3.2 kilometers away from the launch station. the total flight time was 200.7 seconds. the test was a complete success.

dai zheng, chief commander of the suzaku-3 reusable liquid oxygen-methane rocket, said: "for the process of suzaku-3's actual return and vertical recovery, we have verified these key technologies in advance, which has laid a good technical foundation for suzaku-3."

it is reported that this test is an advanced verification of various key technologies for reusable rocket vertical take-off and landing and recovery after zhuque-3 completed the 100-meter-class flight test mission in january this year. the flight process is closer to the actual working conditions of the reusable rocket recovery process, thus fully verifying the key technologies of the zhuque-3 reusable rocket propulsion system.

dai zheng said: "the follow-up of zhuque-3 needs to be verified, that is, after the first and second stages separate, before entering the dense atmosphere, there is another power deceleration. we verified this link through the flight test of zhuque-3, after the first and second stages separate, the first stage performs a recovery test."

zhuque-3 is a large liquid oxygen and methane reusable rocket with a body diameter of 4.5 meters, a total length of 76.6 meters, a takeoff mass of approximately 660 tons, and a first-stage rocket designed to be reused no less than 20 times. it has a carrying capacity of no less than 18.3 tons and can support the mission requirements of high-density launches of my country's satellite internet network, large communication satellite launches, and various types of spacecraft launches.

tongchuan, shaanxi: asia's largest space engine high-altitude simulation test bench completed and put into use

the reporter learned from the sixth academy of china aerospace science and technology corporation that on september 10, asia's largest space engine high-altitude simulation test bench was completed and put into use in tongchuan, shaanxi, which will effectively guarantee and support the smooth development of my country's manned lunar exploration project.

it is understood that this test bench will be mainly used for the development of lunar landing deceleration engines in my country's manned lunar landing missions in the future. its completion has achieved a major leap in my country's high-altitude simulation test capabilities for space engines.

li guanghui from china aerospace science and technology corporation said: "before the construction of this high-altitude simulation test bench, the high-altitude simulation test capability of my country's largest space engine could not meet the high-altitude simulation test of large thrust engines, so the construction of a new test bench is urgent. with the joint efforts of all staff, it took only 8 months for asia's largest high-altitude simulation test bench to be built."

li guanghui introduced that the main feature of the test bench is that it can simulate the real working environment of the engine in space, so as to test the working performance of the engine. this technology is extremely difficult and only a few countries in the world have mastered it.
