hami city has obvious advantages in developing hydrogen energy and is one of the first hydrogen energy industry demonstration zones in xinjiang. hami city has built two integrated hydrogen production and refueling stations, put into operation 35 hydrogen fuel heavy trucks and 7 hydrogen fuel buses, and initially built a hydrogen energy transportation application scenario. at present, hami city is making every effort to promote the large-scale application of hydrogen energy transportation.

the implementation of the green electricity hydrogen production and hydrogen energy integration demonstration project of xinjiang huishen new energy technology co., ltd. has provided data and experience support for the construction of large-scale hydrogen energy transportation application scenarios in hami city.
xu haitao, the company's deputy general manager, introduced that the total investment of the project is 150 million yuan, and it adopts a technical solution integrating new energy power generation + water electrolysis hydrogen production + hydrogen storage + hydrogen refueling station + hydrogen transportation + hydrogen use. the main construction content is a wind and solar power generation project with an installed capacity of 6 megawatts, a hydrogen production and refueling station with a daily capacity of 2 tons, including the application of hydrogen heavy trucks, etc.
as an important infrastructure of the hydrogen energy industry, hydrogen refueling stations are the key link connecting upstream hydrogen production and downstream applications in the industrial chain.
it is reported that since the project was put into operation in march this year, the hydrogen refueling station has been operating safely and stably for 5 consecutive months, with a total of about 45 tons of hydrogen refueling. the daily hydrogen production and refueling capacity of 2 tons can meet the needs of 60 hydrogen heavy trucks. according to calculations, the project can achieve a carbon dioxide emission reduction of about 5,800 tons per year.
"the company has put into operation 10 hydrogen heavy-duty trucks, which are mainly used for short-distance transportation from coal mines to industrial parks," said xu haitao.
this project is the first phase of guanghui energy's integrated demonstration project of source-grid-load-storage and green electricity hydrogen production and hydrogen energy. its purpose is to explore the coordinated development of upstream and downstream energy, green hydrogen cost control and demonstration research on hydrogen energy transportation applications.

in an energy-rich area like hami, such exploration is very necessary.
hami city has built tens of millions of kilowatts of wind power and millions of kilowatts of photovoltaic power generation demonstration bases, laying the foundation for large-scale production of green hydrogen. at the same time, hami's industrial by-product hydrogen sources are rich, and the surplus coke oven gas has the potential to purify 180,000 tons of automotive hydrogen annually.
correspondingly, hami city, due to its abundant demand for transporting coal, minerals and chemical products, already has the application scenarios and market demand for hydrogen heavy trucks on a scale of tens of thousands.
dou rencai, member of the party leadership group and deputy director of the hami municipal bureau of industry and information technology, introduced that by the end of the year, hami will put into operation 500 hydrogen heavy-duty trucks, and reach 2,000 by 2025, becoming an important new energy transportation force on the "xinjiang coal export" channel.
to achieve the above goals, hami city has vigorously expanded the application scenarios of the hydrogen energy market, driving the development and growth of core equipment manufacturing industries for hydrogen fuel vehicles such as fuel cell systems, battery stacks, and hydrogen cylinders.
in order to promote the high-quality development of the hydrogen energy industry, hami city is relying on its unique local resources and low-cost hydrogen sources to actively expand the application market, and strive to build two "hydrogen highways and hydrogen corridors" within the city, namely naomao lake-yizhou district and santang lake-yizhou district, to create medium- and long-distance "hydrogen highways and hydrogen corridors" across provinces (regions) and cities.
at the same time, hami city has further increased its efforts to attract investment and strived to build hami into the largest hydrogen fuel cell vehicle application scenario in the west, a large-scale low-cost new energy hydrogen production base in the northwest, an important hydrogen source for west-to-east hydrogen transmission, and a hydrogen energy industry chain equipment manufacturing base.
