Hunan Daily, August 26 (All-media reporters Liang Keting, Luo Hui, Zhang Siqi) As the school is about to start, Chenzhou No. 1 Middle School Education Group has donated a total of 900,000 yuan to support the post-disaster reconstruction of Zixing Prefecture Mensi Middle School. The two parties have also signed a three-year paired assistance agreement. Recently, Chenzhou City has launched the municipal education system to provide counterpart assistance to Zixing City's key disaster-stricken schools. 11 municipal schools and the Municipal Institute of Education and Science have provided counterpart assistance to Zixing's five disaster-stricken schools to ensure that Zixing's key disaster-stricken schools will open on schedule.
Affected by the extremely heavy rainfall brought by Typhoon Gemi, the buildings, facilities and equipment of more than 40 schools in Zixing City were damaged to varying degrees. Among them, five schools, including Zhoumensi Middle School, Bamianshan Yao Ethnic Township Middle School, Bamianshan Central Kindergarten, Yanping Primary School in Zhoumensi Town, and Longxi School in Bailang Town, were severely affected. In accordance with the principle of 2 to 3 municipal schools providing counterpart assistance to one key disaster-stricken school, Chenzhou arranged 11 schools, including Chenzhou No. 1 Middle School, Chenzhou Xinfei School, Chenzhou Municipal Government Kindergarten, Chenzhou No. 6 Middle School, Chenzhou Open University, and Xiangnan College Affiliated Primary School, as well as the Municipal Institute of Education and Science to carry out counterpart assistance.
Assist the affected schools in their recovery and reconstruction work. In accordance with the "one school, one policy" requirement, comprehensively promote the cleaning, renovation, disinfection, and repair of the affected school buildings. Assist in accurately verifying the disaster situation, check and count the teaching equipment and living facilities needed for the affected schools to reopen, provide necessary reconstruction funds and material assistance, and ensure that they are replenished and equipped before the start of school.
Assist the affected schools to prevent dropouts and ensure school attendance. Implement the "green channel" system, provide financial aid to students from affected families and teachers, and provide 100% coverage for students from families with temporary financial difficulties due to floods and waterlogging disasters. Register each student and include them in the list of students from families with financial difficulties this fall to ensure that no student drops out of school due to the disaster.
Assist the affected schools in teaching management. Provide guidance on the mental health of teachers and students, life safety, campus and building safety, school food safety, hygiene and epidemic prevention safety, etc. Share education and teaching concepts, daily school management, excellent teachers, and high-quality teaching resources, so as to promote the overall improvement of the school management level of the targeted schools.
