It can reach the moon in the sky and catch turtles in the five oceans. On August 22, the reporter learned that the robot technology developed by enterprises in the sub-center is shining at the 2024 World Robot Conference. Giant drones and unmanned boats can already go up to the sky and down to the sea. The surgical robot that completed the first robot-assisted positioning and puncture and drainage of intracerebral hematoma in the sub-center has become the first domestic neurosurgery robot to successfully "go overseas".

Cutting-edge technology supports drones and unmanned ships

In Hall E2 of the 2024 World Robot Conference, a giant drone with a wingspan of more than 8 meters, more than one meter tall, and a fuselage length of nearly 5 meters is particularly eye-catching, attracting the audience to stop and take photos or take photos with it.

"Although this CZQJ-60 UAV is slightly smaller than our other giant UAV with a wingspan of over 10 meters, its technology is extremely advanced," said Liu Donghai, deputy general manager of Beijing Chunyi Aviation, a sub-center enterprise. He said that the CZQJ-60 UAV has two take-off modes: vertical take-off and landing and ordinary taxiing take-off and landing. After connecting to the Beidou navigation system, it can perform tasks in many fields, from aerial photography to disaster relief, as well as water conservancy, environmental protection, surveying and mapping, and climate. "At present, its load capacity is close to 80 kilograms, which is in a leading position in the industry," said Liu Donghai.

Liu Donghai introduced that, relying on its leading technical strength and the strong technical support provided by the resident academicians of its academician workstation, Chunyi Aviation has adopted many leading concepts and technologies such as modular design, and has achieved the replacement of everything from engines to airborne facilities. In addition, it has also participated in the annual test of the China Remote Sensing Satellite Radiation Correction Field, and worked together with the National Satellite Meteorological Center, China Resource Satellite Application Center, Institute of Atmospheric Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and many other units to jointly conduct research on cutting-edge technologies.

At present, Chunyi Aviation is focusing not only on drones, but also on unmanned boats. Liu Donghai said that its unmanned boats are waterproof and powered by solar photovoltaics. They can perform in a variety of waters such as oceans and inland waterways, and perform various requirements such as cruising, inspection, detection, and environmental protection. Since the unmanned boats are equipped with intelligent perception and control systems, they can achieve long-term autonomous cruising without human control, perform many specific tasks such as path cruising, target tracking, and precise positioning, and achieve extremely high timeliness and accuracy.

"At present, we have carried out a lot of cooperation with the State Grid, the China Earthquake Administration, the Ministry of Civil Affairs, etc." said Liu Donghai.

Robots can dance and work together

On August 22, the Beijing Embodied Intelligent Robotics Innovation Center, jointly invested and established by UBTECH, Beijing Jingcheng Machinery and Electronics, and Zhitong Technology, a sub-center enterprise, held the "Embodied Intelligent Industry Trend and Future Development Forum" at the World Robotics Conference. Xiong Youjun, general manager of the innovation center, announced a number of latest achievements, including the embodied intelligent robot "Tiangong 1.2 MAX" and the embodied intelligent service robot "Tianyi".

The 173cm tall and 60kg Tiangong 1.2 MAX picked up the conference badge with both hands, walked to the center of the stage, and placed the badge accurately on the launch pad. Xiong Youjun introduced that compared with Tiangong 1.1 PRO, Tiangong 1.2 MAX is more powerful, with a hip and knee joint torque of 320 Newton meters, greater load capacity, faster speed, longer endurance, and stronger intelligent interaction and task execution capabilities.

In the exhibition area, these "Tiangong" robots not only achieve natural anthropomorphic walking and running, but also stably pass through complex environments such as grass, sand, hills, gravel, stairs, slopes, etc., showing the potential to complete various tasks. Not only that, the "Tiangong" robot also achieves a vivid imitation of human body movements, dancing, bowing, and greeting passers-by, attracting everyone to interact enthusiastically. In the assembly line material sorting and loading and unloading schematic scenes in the industrial scene area, "Tiangong" and other robots respectively perform tasks such as arbitrary posture grasping and precise placement, precise grasping and arbitrary placement, etc., demonstrating the ability of embodied intelligence to enable new industrial manufacturing. Its entire process can run stably for a long time without human intervention.

To promote industrial development, the Innovation Center also released the "100 Tiangong Plan" on the same day, providing the "Tiangong" universal robot mother platform for domestic and foreign cutting-edge research on embodied intelligence. The platform can flexibly expand software, hardware and other functional modules to meet the needs of different scenarios. Scientific research institutions can conduct secondary development based on the functions of the "Tiangong" mother platform to promote the acceleration of industrial research and application. In addition, the Innovation Center also released embodied intelligence data sets and application platforms, the first domestic embodied intelligence data set collection field standard, operating system and open source community construction plan and other achievements with its partners.

Neurosurgery Robot Service Center

Beijing Baihui Weikang Technology Co., Ltd. brought its independently developed Ruimi series of neurosurgery robots. Reporters learned that the first robot-assisted positioning of intracerebral hematoma puncture and drainage in the sub-center completed at the Tongzhou branch of Beijing Friendship Hospital this year used this series of robots.

The neurosurgery robot consists of three parts: "hand, eye, and brain". The "hand" refers to the robotic arm, the "eye" is the optical tracking locator, and the "brain" is the intelligent surgical planning system.

In the first robot-assisted puncture and drainage of intracranial hematoma at the Tongzhou branch of Beijing Friendship Hospital this year, the patient suffered from cerebral hemorrhage in the right basal ganglia. Before the operation, the doctor imported the patient's imaging data into the robotic surgery planning system. The system automatically segmented and integrated the patient's intracranial three-dimensional anatomical structure, accurately displayed the location of intracranial lesions, intelligently outlined the hematoma morphology, and intelligently identified and avoided important functional tissues in the skull, automatically planning the best surgical route. During the operation, the robot optical tracking locator registered the patient's facial information, accurately matched the spatial coordinate relationship between the patient and the image in real time, and provided real-time navigation throughout the operation. The fully automatic robotic arm accurately located the entry point during the operation, and carefully guided the doctor to perform the operation according to the path and depth planned before the operation.

Robot-assisted surgery not only improves surgical accuracy and safety, but also helps reduce the incidence of collateral injuries during surgery and shortens the patient's postoperative recovery time. The patient's postoperative CT scan results showed that the drainage tube head inserted during the operation was precisely placed in the center of the hematoma, successfully avoiding important functional structures of the brain.

It is reported that the RUIMI series of neurosurgery robots have been used in-depth in 400 hospitals across the country, covering common neurosurgery diseases such as cerebral hemorrhage, epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, trigeminal neuralgia, intracranial tumors, etc., and more than 40,000 surgeries have been performed in clinical practice.

The Ruimi neurosurgery robot is also the first domestic neurosurgery robot to successfully "go overseas". On March 22 this year, it landed in Kazakhstan, assisted doctors in completing the country's first surgical robot-assisted neurosurgery operation, and has since carried out more than 30 neurosurgery operations. "At present, the company has established cooperation with Thailand, Colombia, Indonesia and other countries, and will deepen international market cooperation in the future." said Zhang Yubing, director and deputy general manager of Baihui Weikang.
