Recently, the latest spoilers of the Zhuhai Air Show: Xiaopeng Huitian's "land aircraft carrier" made its global "debut"; Gansu Yunhe UAV made its national debut; China's 58-meter-long "Killer Whale" made its first public appearance; and a variety of unmanned boat dynamic performances... will all be presented in Doumen, Zhuhai. "Static + dynamic" and "water + air", the "Second Exhibition Area" of the Zhuhai Air Show located in Doumen will bring a new experience to aviation and navigation fans.
The "Land Aircraft Carrier" Flying Car is coming
The much-anticipated Xiaopeng Huitian "Land Aircraft Carrier" flying car is finally here! According to the Zhuhai Air Show Company, the world debut of the "Land Aircraft Carrier" will be presented in the "Second Exhibition Area" of the Air Show.
According to public information, Xiaopeng Huitian's "Land Aircraft Carrier" flying car adopts a two-part design, divided into a land body and a flying body. It looks like a Mars rover and is expected to start pre-sale in the fourth quarter of 2024. As the first split-type flying car in China to be mass-produced and delivered to individual users, its movement and stillness have attracted much attention from the industry. The global debut in Doumen may become an important display before the pre-sale of the "Land Aircraft Carrier".
It is revealed that the land body of the split flying car is a 4-5-person cockpit, equipped with an extended-range hybrid system that can recharge the flying body multiple times. The whole vehicle adopts a three-axle six-wheel vehicle design, which can achieve 6X6 all-wheel drive and rear-wheel steering. As the first manned pure electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft developed for individual users in China, the flying body adopts a distributed electric propulsion system to meet the single-point failure safety requirements, has manual/automatic driving modes, and has a 270° panoramic double cockpit, bringing a new flying experience to the driver.
It is reported that in addition to meeting the needs of individual users, this "land aircraft carrier" flying car can also meet the application needs of some public services, such as emergency rescue, etc., which can be said to take into account both "public" and "private".
Many star exhibits debuted
In addition to the global debut of the "land aircraft carrier", the Gansu Yunhe UAV and the 58-meter-long Chinese ship "Orca" are also previewed in advance, both of which will make their first public appearance.
It is understood that there is not much public information available about the Gansu Yunhe UAV, which will debut during the Zhuhai Air Show; and the 58-meter-long "Orca" developed by the global shipbuilding giant China State Shipbuilding Corporation made its first public appearance, attracting much attention from the industry at home and abroad. The author learned that there are currently 4 exhibitors registered to participate in the water demonstration area, with 9 unmanned boats. China Academy of Aerospace Electronics Technology, Zhuhai Yunzhou Intelligence, Yaguang Technology and others sent a number of unmanned boats to carry out dynamic performances.
Liu Zhicheng, director of the General Affairs Department of Zhuhai Airshow Group Co., Ltd., said that the construction of the entire unmanned boat demonstration area has started, and the prototype of the audience stand has been revealed, and it is expected to be completed in mid-October. The work of attracting investors and exhibitors is also in progress. "The second exhibition area will be held from November 12 to 14, which is the professional day of the air show. The exhibits will cover unmanned equipment such as drones and unmanned boats. The three-dimensional display will be combined with static + dynamic, water + air display. At that time, the entire demonstration process will be broadcast live on the big screen of the air show center."
330,000 square meters of unmanned system demonstration area
Beside the Hutiaomen waterway, machines roared, excavators, bulldozers and transporters were busy filling soil and leveling the road surface... The construction of the unmanned system demonstration area is in full swing. This year's air show added a second exhibition area for the first time, located at the Zhuhai Lianzhou General Airport. The airport will be used as a carrier to hold a series of high-level unmanned system demonstration area activities. It is reported that the unmanned system demonstration area is planned to have a 330,000 square meter exhibition venue, with unmanned boat water demonstration area, unmanned aerial vehicle dynamic and static display area, etc.
Among them, the unmanned boat water demonstration area is located in the Qianyi dike section of the airport, which is about 1.2 kilometers long next to the Hutiaomen waterway. The demonstration area covers an area of about 300,000 square meters and is equipped with spectator stands, static parking areas, command centers, etc., which can accommodate 10,000 to 20,000 people to experience the water unmanned equipment show up close; the UAV static display area is located in the airport apron, with an area of about 30,000 square meters, which is divided into UAV dynamic and static display areas, UAV dynamic display areas, audience viewing areas, flight commentary desks, etc. As of now, nearly 40 aircraft have registered for the exhibition.
Create the "Second Exhibition Area" of the China Airshow and accelerate the layout of the new track of the drone industry. At present, Doumen is taking advantage of the opportunity, building on its industrial foundation and its own advantages, making long-term plans and steadily advancing, and cultivating new momentum for the development of low-altitude economic industries to usher in many opportunities. Not long ago, Zhuhai released two low-altitude construction projects with a total investment of 5 billion yuan. Among them, the total investment of the low-altitude transportation hub center project on the west bank of the Pearl River is 4 billion yuan, including the second phase of the expansion and reconstruction of Zhuhai Lianzhou Airport, the sea, land and air intelligent integrated three-dimensional transportation test demonstration base, and the low-altitude aircraft comprehensive test base.
It is reported that the second phase of the expansion project of Zhuhai Lianzhou Airport will add an additional land area of about 114 hectares, with a planned investment of 2.9 billion yuan. The main construction contents include: extending the runway to 2,400 meters and 45 meters in width, building a new 1,758-meter parallel taxiway and 3 vertical connecting roads, building a precision approach navigation lighting system and instrument system; building new hangars, aprons, training buildings and other supporting facilities; building new air show aprons, business jet operation base facilities, etc. In addition, the construction of the drone test flight test base has started, including the first and second phases of the project. The first phase is located in the Doumen Lianzhou Airport. The construction contents include: eVTOL, large, medium and small drone test flights, low-altitude flight service supervision platform, etc.
