Picking strawberries can save 80% of labor and can solve the spraying needs of super-large glass greenhouses... Agricultural facility robots from Haidian were unveiled at the ongoing 2024 World Robot Conference. On August 22, the reporter learned from the Haidian District Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau that by the end of this year, strawberry picking robots and dual-use spray robots on track will be tried and used for the first time in actual agricultural scenarios in Haidian.

The reporter learned that the development of the strawberry picking robot has solved the problems of low-loss picking and accurate perception under changing light intensity. The picking robot's arm can be flexibly turned according to the situation to avoid various obstacles in the agricultural environment. The robot's mobile platform adopts a four-turn four-wheel drive design, which can achieve on-the-spot turning, diagonal walking and precise speed control. It can also easily adjust the wheelbase and wheelbase to meet different operating requirements. Robotic strawberry picking is expected to save more than 80% of labor and save about 6,000 yuan per acre.

With the development of facility agriculture, the three-dimensional cultivation environment of large glass greenhouses is becoming more and more complex. The new spray robot unveiled this time was developed to address this situation. It has established a technical system that integrates spraying, monitoring, and tracing. It has a universal chassis for both road and track and navigation and positioning technology with multi-sensor fusion. It solves the problems of large area, similar geometric structure, complex road conditions, and high positioning accuracy requirements of super-large glass greenhouses. It can perform autonomous track change and continuous operation in large multi-span greenhouses, with a success rate of more than 99% for up and down tracks, saving more than 85% of labor.

According to the relevant person in charge of the Haidian Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau, in recent years, Haidian District has promoted the transformation of agriculture from traditional planting to agricultural economy and technology based on the agricultural resource endowment, industrial space layout and the development status of plantation parks. The key components of the strawberry picking robot and the facility horticulture spray robot that appeared at the World Robot Conference were independently developed by the bureau and the team of Academician Zhao Chunjiang, Researcher Xiong Ya and Associate Researcher Lin Sen of the Beijing Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences. It is expected that by the end of this year, the two robots will be tested and used for the first time in actual agricultural scenarios in Haidian, helping to realize the multi-region, multi-modal, multi-scenario and diversified application scenarios of agricultural artificial intelligence.
