From a steel plate to a CNC machine tool
Guangdong Dehong Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Dehong Heavy Industry"), a subsidiary of Hongya CNC, is located in Foshan City, Guangdong Province. Driving from the headquarters of Hongya CNC to the Foshan manufacturing base of Dehong Heavy Industry, the reporter saw a garden-style factory with a total investment of 800 million yuan and a construction area of ​​165,000 square meters.
"When an ordinary steel plate enters our production line, it begins a magnificent transformation from nothing to something, from rough to precise." Wu Haiyang, general manager of Dehong Heavy Industry, led a group of reporters to explore the secrets of "intelligent manufacturing" of furniture machinery.
The heat waves in Lingnan are surging. In the workshop of the Foshan manufacturing base, the large industrial ceiling fans on the roof are turning non-stop and the machines are roaring. In the automated welding workshop, the reporter saw the industry's first fully automatic laser pipe cutting line, which was jointly developed by Hongya CNC and two suppliers. It realizes automatic loading of whole bundles of materials and automatic sorting after cutting, greatly reducing the labor intensity of employees.
After welding is completed, the welded parts go through an annealing process and enter the precision machining workshop. To ensure that the products reach the highest precision, the company invested more than 100 million yuan and purchased 35 high-precision large-scale pentahedron machining centers, achieving full self-production of core components.
"If the pentahedron machining center gives CNC machine tools unparalleled precision, then the first-class sheet metal production and manufacturing technology and equipment give it a sturdy and beautiful 'coat'." Wu Haiyang introduced that the sheet metal workshop covers a full set of sheet metal production processes including laser cutting line, automatic bending, automatic welding, automatic grinding, assembly line spraying and pre-assembly, with a very high degree of intelligence.
After painting, the parts enter the final assembly workshop, which adopts the assembly line production mode. There are 4 production lines in total with an annual production capacity of 10,000 units (sets).
After the above process, a piece of steel plate is transformed into a CNC machine tool. "Here, deepening reform and continuous innovation run through the entire production process," said Wu Haiyang.
From a piece of wood to a wardrobe
In a spacious and bright workshop at the Foshan manufacturing base, skilled workers are expertly operating an intelligent production line consisting of multiple CNC machine tools. The reporter observed that the intelligent woodworking machinery in front of him was operating in an orderly manner, with cutting, edge banding, drilling, sorting, and other operations being as orderly as flowing water. The skilled workers waiting at the end of the process simply assembled the boards into a home wardrobe.
"This is the intelligent production line built by Hongya CNC for small and medium-sized custom furniture companies. We call it the 'one-person line'." Xiang Dongpeng, the person in charge of the automation project of Hongya CNC, introduced the production line in front of him: "The traditional single-machine production mode requires at least 10 people to operate, but with the 'one-person line' production, only one main operator is needed to efficiently manage the entire production process."
According to Xiang Dongpeng, before production on the "one-person line", the designer will design a three-dimensional rendering based on the floor plan provided by the customer, as well as the customer's favorite style such as simplicity, light luxury, European style, etc. After that, it only needs to be submitted to the production factory with one click. The software will automatically split the order and generate the processing code to enter the production stage. "A set of customized wardrobes can be completed in only 50 minutes on this 'one-person line'."
The reporter saw at the scene that the entire production process of the "one-man line" was smooth and fast. The robot was responsible for automatically grabbing the required panels, and the labeling machine automatically attached the QR code label. "This label provides basic information for the information production of the processing plant, covering customer information and processing technology. It is the only identification code of the panel, which is equivalent to its 'identity card'." Xiang Dongpeng explained the purpose of the QR code to the reporter.
"The subsequent cutting, edge banding, drilling and sorting are all processed by scanning codes with visual cameras. When working, workers only need to use a forklift to place the panels on the shelves of the smart silo, start the machine, and then take away the sorted panels at the back end of the production line." Xiang Dongpeng said.
Talking about the characteristics of the "one-man line", Xiang Dongpeng proudly told reporters: "Hongya CNC independently developed the software and hardware of the loading and unloading robots, as well as the main machine and automated auxiliary equipment. Our equipment can efficiently troubleshoot and solve problems, which can reduce the workload of maintenance personnel. In addition, the intelligence of the "one-man line" is also reflected in the production of small-sized plates. The automation rate of the "one-man line" is as high as over 92%, and even plates as small as 5 cm × 25 cm can be processed smoothly on the line."
"In the future, designers and decoration companies across the country can submit orders online, and the 'one-person line' will complete the production." Xiang Dongpeng said: "The 'one-person line' has significantly shortened the production and delivery cycle from the past 30 days to within 7 days. The communication efficiency from order receipt to delivery has increased by 3 times, and the error rate has been reduced by 80%."
From the domestic market to the international stage
Hongya CNC has always paid close attention to the foreign market since its establishment. From the domestic market to the international stage, Hongya CNC has been running hard all the way.
During the interview, Peng Ling, sales director of Hongya CNC, told reporters that a Bulgarian distributor recently came to China and conducted an in-depth field investigation at Hongya CNC. "Our cooperation with the Bulgarian distributor originated from the transaction of a CNC drilling center. After the machine was put into use, the end-user of the furniture factory was very satisfied with the quality, performance and timely after-sales service of our equipment." Peng Ling said that the customer factory required to continue to introduce Hongya CNC's edge banding machines, CNC panel saws and machining centers to replace the original European brand equipment in their factory. "After this field investigation, the Bulgarian distributor has become more determined to cooperate with us."
Technological innovation is the core driving force for the advancement of an enterprise. In fact, when Hongya CNC was first established in 2006, it focused on talent training and technological innovation.
Li Maohong, Chairman and General Manager of Hongya CNC, invited Li Liangyu, a Korean expert with 30 years of experience in woodworking industry, to work in China. Today, edge banding machine has become the core product of Hongya CNC, and Li Liangyu has played an important role.
Li Liangyu told reporters that Hongya CNC began to develop high-speed flexible edge banding machines in 2018, and continued to innovate on the basis of intelligent edge banding machines. After 5 years of continuous updates and iterations, it completed the development of the "magnetic levitation high-speed flexible edge banding machine" at the end of 2023. In the field of high-speed flexible edge banding of panel furniture equipment, it has achieved a breakthrough in the "neck-stuck" technology of high-speed flexible edge banding machines, breaking the monopoly of foreign high-end edge banding machines in the Chinese market. It plays a positive role in promoting the upgrading of China's panel furniture production equipment and leading the panel furniture manufacturing industry to develop towards intelligence and high-end. Up to now, Hongya CNC's edge banding machine products rank first in domestic sales and are the single champion products of Guangdong Province's manufacturing industry.
Talking about the achievements of "going global" in recent years, Peng Ling told reporters: "At present, Hongya CNC has more than 120 high-quality distributors around the world, and its products are exported to more than 70 countries and regions around the world. In 2023, Hongya CNC will become the only 'Made in China' in the top five list of global furniture machinery and equipment."
