On August 16, the closing ceremony of the research and practice activities and a report on the research and study results were held at the 3rd Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Macao Youth Growth Summit, co-organized by Shenzhen Hong Kong Peiqiao Academy Longhua Xinyi School (hereinafter referred to as "Peiqiao Xinyi School"), under the joint guidance and support of 30 departments including the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office of the Ministry of Education and the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education.
Students from Peiqiao Xinyi School said during their sharing at the event that through the study and practice activities, they have a deeper understanding of the significance of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao working together to "seek the history of cultural common origins and establish the ambition of Chinese heritage", and interpret the spirit of the reply letter with practical actions. Afterwards, students from Peiqiao Xinyi School worked together with middle school students from Shenzhen, Hong Kong and Macao to give wonderful on-site reports on topics such as "Dongshen Water Supply Project", "Hong Kong Plover Cove Freshwater Reservoir" and "Macau Qingzhou Water Plant", and won rounds of applause.
Over the past year, Peiqiao Xinyi School has adhered to the school motto of "combining Chinese and Western cultures to cultivate an outstanding new generation that can contribute to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and China's entry into the world", continuously promoting the glorious tradition of patriotism and love for Hong Kong, and guiding young students to thrive.
On the first day of school last year, Peiqiao Xinyi School gave all students a special "first lesson of school" - "Patriotism and the Ambition of Strengthening the Country". Since then, the school has held a series of special cultural exchange activities to allow students to deeply appreciate the profoundness of the motherland's culture and expand their international vision on this basis. In the 2023-2024 school year, Peiqiao Xinyi School organized more than 100 cultural exchange activities inside and outside the school, attracting more than 10,000 participants, demonstrating the school's emphasis on and investment in the all-round development of young people.
Through participating in various types of activities such as the "Small Flags, Big Love" Kowloon Lok Sin Tong Flag Day Charity Event, the "National Ear Care Day Charity Concert Performance", and the "2023 Children's Voices, One Heart, One Dream" Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Youth Chorus Performance, students not only enriched their learning experience and increased their talents, but also cultivated love and broadened their horizons. The school actively connects inside and outside the campus, inside and outside the classroom, and creates various opportunities to promote mutual understanding and high-quality integration between students in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and between students and society, thereby building a comprehensive quality education system to better cultivate a new generation of ideal, sentimental and loving people in the Bay Area.
As a model of education integration between Shenzhen and Hong Kong, Peiqiao Xinyi School is jointly run by Peiqiao Education Institution and Xinyi Group. It is not only the first international boarding school in China that integrates mainland curriculum, Hong Kong curriculum and international curriculum, but also the first 16-year school for children of Hong Kong people in the mainland from kindergarten to high school. In the future, Peiqiao Xinyi School will continue to innovate teaching models, optimize curriculum settings, strengthen teacher training, and continue to organize diversified activities to cultivate more social pillars for the country.
