CityWalk is no longer new? Check out CityFly! Take a helicopter to see the Great Wall, look down on the sea on a powered paraglider, take a flying taxi to the next attraction... This summer, many places across the country have launched new projects such as aerial tours, powered paragliding, and drone delivery to scenic spots. On social platforms, CityFly travel notes have become a fashionable "visible bag". Low-altitude tourism is moving from concept to reality and is expected to become a new favorite in the market.

Low altitude usually refers to the airspace where the vertical distance from an aircraft to the ground directly below is less than 1 km. Tourism activities carried out in this airspace relying on general aviation aircraft and low-altitude aircraft can be called low-altitude tourism. Tourists overlook the earth from high altitude, their curiosity and desire to explore are maximized, and the beautiful scenery is in full view. The shocking visual impact and unique flight experience just fit their pursuit of novelty, novelty and uniqueness.

In recent years, favorable policies, mature technology and escalating tourism demand have made local governments more enthusiastic about developing low-altitude tourism. At the policy level, as early as 2014, the "Several Opinions on Promoting the Reform and Development of the Tourism Industry" first proposed to encourage the exploration of "low-altitude flight tourism"; this year, the low-altitude economy was written into the "Government Work Report" for the first time; the recently released "Opinions on Promoting the High-Quality Development of Service Consumption" once again proposed to encourage the development of new formats such as low-altitude flight. At the technical level, my country's new low-altitude aircraft are booming, and new technologies such as information communication, Beidou navigation, and artificial intelligence are widely used, all of which provide technical support for the development of the low-altitude economy. On the demand side, as young groups become the main consumers, they pursue fresh excitement in their travels, and their enthusiasm for low-altitude tourism is particularly high. Statistics from the Ctrip platform show that Hainan's low-altitude tourism products in 2023 will increase by more than 104% compared with the same period in 2022, the number of people received will increase by 100% year-on-year, and the average price per customer will exceed 800 yuan.

Low-altitude tourism is taking off, but the industry is still in its early stages of development, with problems such as insufficient product supply, prices exceeding public expectations, and high safety and operational requirements. To take low-altitude tourism to a "new height", strong support from government departments and concerted efforts from all parties are needed.

Tourists are most concerned about safety. In the face of the booming low-altitude tourism, it is necessary to speed up the establishment of a sound safety supervision system, strengthen the training and management of practitioners, formulate emergency plans, and ensure safe and orderly flights. Price is also an important consideration for tourists. In China, low-altitude tourism is still a high-end niche project. Enterprises should seek policy support through large-scale operations and information construction, and create more affordable products to increase their attractiveness.

In foreign countries, there are many low-altitude sightseeing routes with rich types, which have long become a beautiful scenery of the city. Domestic air resources have not been fully utilized, infrastructure construction is not perfect, and low-altitude tourism cannot realize "fly whenever you want". As an important part of the low-altitude economy, low-altitude tourism has broad prospects. It can not only enhance the popularity and attractiveness of related regions, enrich the tourism product system, promote the growth of local tourism consumption, but also drive the development of related industries. Regions with conditions can adapt to local conditions, make reasonable plans, continuously optimize the flight experience, expand more "new routes", and make low-altitude tourism a new business card for urban cultural tourism.

Low-altitude tourism is not just about seeing the scenery from a different angle, it can also develop more new forms of cultural and tourism integration. For example, low-altitude tourism can be combined with sports, popular science, travel photography, etc. to enhance the competitiveness of products and services. Although people are still more interested in watching low-altitude tourism than experiencing it, the distance between excitement and action is not far. For the tourism industry, there is no attraction without characteristics. With the continuous upgrading of consumer demand, it is an inevitable trend for tourism products to move from mass to personalized, and from ordinary to high-end. Only by leading the market and even creating the market can we ultimately win the market. (Author: Jiang Tianjiao Source: Economic Daily)
