On August 9, the Chinese Navy Peace Ark hospital ship carrying out the "Harmonious Mission-2024" mission arrived in Maputo, the capital of Mozambique. On the dock, Zhou Shu, a Mozambican officer holding a welcome banner, stood out.

The "Captain Huang" on the placard is Huang Hai, an officer of the Foreign Training Brigade of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Naval Medical University. Upon learning that he would come to Maputo with the Peace Ark hospital ship, Zhou Shu immediately submitted an application, hoping to become a volunteer to receive the hospital ship's visit to Mozambique. Recently, Zhou Shu has been counting the days, looking forward to the early arrival of the Peace Ark to realize his wish 7 years ago.

In November 2017, the Peace Ark hospital ship visited Mozambique for the first time. At that time, Zhou Shu was working in a military hospital in Maputo. With the assistance of Chinese military doctors, a breast cancer patient underwent surgery and her condition gradually improved. "Since then, I have hoped that one day I could board the Peace Ark and learn from Chinese military doctors," Zhou Shu said.

A year later, Zhou Shu came to the Naval Medical University to study abroad. When he first came to China to study, Zhou Shu had a lot of psychological pressure because he was not familiar with Chinese. The careful Huang Hai soon discovered Zhou Shu's distress. He asked a senior student from Mozambique to be Zhou Shu's translator and patiently enlightened Zhou Shu: "The school is your home. Your compatriots, students from different countries, Chinese teachers and classmates are all your family." With the help of Huang Hai, Zhou Shu gradually integrated into the student group and his academic performance continued to improve.
