With the help of the China-Brazil Earth Resources Satellite Project, the two countries have jointly developed 6 satellites. Among them, the two satellites 04 and 04A currently in orbit have played an important role in Brazil's water resources management, urban planning, environment and disaster monitoring.

He said that at the end of April this year, severe floods and rainstorms occurred in Rio Grande do Sul in southern Brazil. With the help of these two satellites in orbit, the Brazilian Space Research Institute can monitor the trend of floods, assess the disaster situation and understand the damage to urban infrastructure, providing intellectual support for the Brazilian government's post-disaster reconstruction decision-making. According to him, the satellite cooperation between the two countries has also played a positive role in protecting the Amazon rainforest, the "lungs of the earth."
