Beijing News (Reporter Zhao Lixin) According to the Huairou District Urban Management Committee, the environmental improvement and upgrading project in the central area and surrounding areas of Huairou Science City has been completed, providing a higher quality ecological space for nearby residents and scientific researchers in Huairou Science City.

The project has built three new parks, installed 77 new street lights and built one new bridge, and includes six aspects, namely, greening and beautifying the idle land vacated by the demolition of illegal buildings at Beifang West Bridge along Huairou Science City, and installing lighting facilities on the east and west sides of Beifang West Bridge along Yangyan Road and the four ramps on the north and south sides of Beifang West Bridge; repairing the road surface of seven severely damaged roads in the central area of Science City, including Niuhe West Road (East) and Yanqi South 1st Street, and replacing rainwater grates and manhole covers; greening and beautifying the exposed land on the south and west sides of the South Campus of No. 101 Middle School, and repairing the pedestrian walkways around the land; greening and beautifying the vacant land on the east side of Multimodal in the central area of Huairou Science City; building a cross-channel bridge at the south entrance of the high-energy synchrotron radiation light source in the central area of Huairou Science City; and partially repairing the fence foundation on both sides of Yangyan Road from Beifang West Bridge to Yongle Street.
According to the relevant person in charge of the Huairou District Urban Management Committee, a new bridge across the canal was built at the south entrance of the high-energy synchrotron radiation source, which is connected to the municipal road, improving the traffic carrying capacity around the large device and creating a convenient working environment for scientific research talents. The project has sorted out more than 50,000 square meters of green land, planted 191 evergreen trees, 1,082 deciduous trees, and 252 shrubs, aiming to create an overall environment with vitality, life, and quality.
The project also built three new parks, located at the intersection of Beifang West Bridge and Yangyan Road, outside the South Campus of No. 101 Middle School, and outside the Multimodal Cross-Scale Biomedical Imaging Facility. It is reported that the newly built park green space can serve the citizens living nearby, parents picking up their children, and researchers working in Huairou Science City.
It is reported that Huairou Science City has accumulated a strong national strategic scientific and technological strength and has become one of the most densely populated areas of major scientific and technological infrastructure in the world. In order to attract more scientific researchers to settle in Huairou Science City and provide them with better urban supporting services, Huairou Science City is building a "lifelong city" for scientists with international standards.
