According to data from the Mohan Entry-Exit Border Inspection Station, on August 9, the Mohan Railway Port welcomed a passenger flow peak, with more than 1,200 inbound and outbound passengers cleared in a single day, reaching 1,215 passengers, breaking the record for the highest number of inbound and outbound passengers since the start of operation of the China-Laos Railway international passenger train, setting a historical high.
It is reported that since the opening of the China-Laos Railway International Passenger Train, it has become the preferred mode of travel for many Chinese and foreign tourists to study, do business and travel in China and Laos due to its economic, convenient and comfortable features. In addition, this year, my country's visa-free "circle of friends" has been continuously expanding, the China-Laos Railway has added a pair of international passenger trains, and the Mohan Railway Port has been newly added as a port applicable to the 144-hour transit visa-free policy. In addition, the summer cross-border tourism and border tourism double peaks have superimposed, which has promoted the inbound and outbound traffic of the Mohan Railway Port to rise steadily.
Since the beginning of this year, as of August 9, the Mohan Railway Port has cleared more than 157,000 people entering and leaving the country, and the total amount of goods cleared has exceeded 3 million tons. In particular, since April 13 this year, the number of people entering and leaving the country has increased significantly, up 56.7% year-on-year. Since the opening of the China-Laos Railway International Passenger Train, nearly 250,000 people from 97 countries and regions have entered and left the country. The Mohan Railway Port has become my country's largest railway port to ASEAN.
In order to actively respond to the peak passenger flow at ports, the Mohan Entry-Exit Border Inspection Station proactively serves and integrates into the high-quality joint construction of the "Belt and Road", carries out the construction of smart ports, and actively promotes the upgrading of border inspection and testing infrastructure at ports. In terms of personnel inspection, we have fully implemented the "two announcements and one reminder", the commitment that Chinese citizens will not have to queue for more than 30 minutes at the border, set up a temporary entry card filling point for foreigners, formed a "visa-free service vanguard", opened "dedicated channels" and "emergency channels", established and improved entry and exit data forecasting and pre-inspection mechanisms, implemented dynamic control of entry and exit traffic at ports, "classified and diverted" entry and exit passengers, set up "tidal windows" in different time periods and other facilitation measures, and the efficiency of on-site border inspection of passengers has increased by more than 30%, and the clearance rate of general passengers has reached 100%. In terms of vehicle inspection, we adopt the inspection method of "key spot checks and general inspections" for entry and exit trains, provide train drivers with convenience in waiting for the train to go through entry and exit procedures, implement differentiated customs clearance inspection models for special business formats such as sea-rail transport, international trains, cold chain transportation, and fresh products, and innovatively implement 7×24-hour all-weather customs clearance services to ensure "zero waiting" for customs clearance and "zero delay" for goods loading and unloading. The goal of "from smooth to smooth, from smooth to fast, and from fast to good" at the ports is gradually being achieved.
