In order to do a good job in flood prevention in the central urban river, Nanyang Urban River Management Center relied on the advantages of the smart urban management information platform to conduct all-round and detailed inspections of the urban rivers, accurately locate the hidden dangers in the rivers, and rely on the smart urban management grid management mechanism to break down the inspection tasks to every river section, thus achieving refined management of river work during the flood season.

Plan ahead of time to ensure that there are no blind spots in the hidden danger investigation. Faced with the severe situation of flood prevention work, we took action in advance, relied on the grid management mechanism, and combined with the analysis of historical flood season data to formulate a detailed flood prevention hidden danger census plan. In July, through the dragnet investigation by the staff of the Municipal Urban River Management Center and the collectors of the Smart Urban Management Operation Center, we focused on the unmanaged river sections, main and secondary roads, and under-construction river-related hidden danger areas. A total of 97 hidden danger cases of various types were found and handled. The blind spots of flood prevention work were effectively eliminated, laying a solid foundation for flood prevention work.

Respond quickly and strengthen supervision. To ensure that hidden danger cases are handled promptly and effectively, the case handling process is strictly implemented. When problems are found, the responsible management office is notified immediately through WeChat handling groups, telephones and other channels, and registration and dispatch are carried out quickly, achieving seamless connection from discovery to disposal. At the same time, the tracking and supervision of case handling progress are strengthened, especially for cases that have not been completed within the deadline. The relevant responsible personnel of the center will focus on contacting, coordinating and supervising, and tracking and solving them to ensure that each case can be completed on time and with quality, reflecting the firm determination of "immediate action and immediate rectification".

Empowered by science and technology, real-time monitoring of rainfall conditions. In order to grasp the dynamics of rainfall conditions in real time, the Municipal Urban River Management Center makes full use of scientific and technological means such as the smart urban management platform and river video monitoring to conduct 24-hour uninterrupted inspections of key areas and weak links in urban rivers. It not only realizes real-time monitoring of key information such as waterlogging on trails and river water levels, but also ensures the rapid discovery, information sharing and timely disposal of safety hazards, effectively improving the emergency response speed and processing capabilities of flood control.

The results are remarkable, and refined management is continuously promoted. In July, the smart urban management grid patrol collected and reported 399 problems of various types, including water guardrails, river bank slope protection, fallen trees, waterlogging on footpaths, dirt after rain, etc., and all have been rectified. In the next step, the Municipal Urban River Management Center will continue to practice the concept that "urban management should be as delicate as embroidery", and will focus on flood prevention without forgetting to protect the scenery.
