I will soon be turning 12. Thinking back, the year I was 11 was incredible: I spoke as a student representative at the elementary school graduation ceremony and participated in the Paris Olympics as the youngest member of the Chinese sports delegation.
I watched the Olympics for the first time three years ago. At that time, I had just started skateboarding. I saw Zhang Xin's wonderful performance in the skateboard bowl competition on TV, and I said to my mother, how great it would be if I could appear in the Olympics like my sister. Until last year, I won my first national championship in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, and the dream of skating into the Olympics began to become less far away.
I don't find skateboarding hard. Whether it's training or competition, it's a happy thing for me. I may have some talent, and I feel like I can enter the Olympics just by playing around. But I still take those difficult moves very seriously, and I really enjoy the feeling of flying freely in the bowl.
Speaking of qualifying for the Olympics, there is a little fun story. In the Shanghai Olympic Qualifying Tournament, I ranked 20th. In the Budapest Tournament, I had to rank in the top 21 to qualify for the Olympics. When the list of Olympic athletes was announced, I was so nervous. Fortunately, I was the first to be called, because the uncle who announced the list read out the names from the back to the front according to the ranking of the athletes in the competition, and I was 21st. The moment I heard my name, I was so happy: it was great to be able to participate in the Olympics!
Coming to Paris, the happiest thing for me every day is exchanging badges with my brothers and sisters. I have obtained dozens of them and I plan to hang them on the wall of my bedroom. I also met brother Ma Long and sister Sun Yingsha in the Olympic Village, and they gave me a lot of encouragement.
I am very excited to be on the Olympic stage, not nervous at all. For me, the biggest charm of skateboarding is that I can make a lot of new friends. Alyssa from Australia is my good friend. She finally won the gold medal, and I am happy for her. Next, my goal is to stand on the podium of the next National Games. I look forward to the next Olympics, where I can go on the Olympic stage again and make more new friends.
