The reporter learned from the Aviation Industry Corporation of China that on August 1, the "Xiangyun" AS700 manned airship independently developed by the Aviation Industry Special Aircraft Research Institute of the group successfully completed its first low-altitude tourism application scenario demonstration flight in Jingmen City, Hubei Province.

During this flight, the airship flew at a speed of 60 kilometers per hour and a flight altitude of 500 meters in a cruising state. Previously, it had also completed its first transfer flight test, rain test and outdoor long-term continuous tethering test.

In addition to low-altitude tourism, the airship can also realize multi-scenario applications such as "low altitude + transportation logistics", "low altitude + intelligent surveying and mapping", "low altitude + emergency rescue", and "low altitude + urban security".

According to relevant persons in charge of the Aviation Industry Special Flight Research Institute, the "Xiangyun" AS700 manned airship is a civilian manned airship developed based on the design experience and mature technological achievements of existing airships. It adopts a conventional single-bladder layout, a streamlined airbag shape, a four-piece "X"-shaped rigid trapezoidal tail, and a single-point single-pillar non-retractable landing gear.

The airship has a maximum take-off weight of 4,150 kg, a maximum range of 700 km, a maximum flight time of 10 hours, and a maximum passenger capacity of 10 people (including 1 pilot). It uses thrust vectoring technology and can achieve short-range and vertical take-off and landing. It is mainly used in aerial tours, emergency rescue, urban security, aerial geophysical exploration and other fields.
