After emphasizing that "the number of active players is not the only criterion for the success of a game", John "Bucky" Buckley, community manager of Pocketpair, the developer of "Metamorphosis", posted a long article on Twitter, saying that he would try as many games as possible and suggested that other players do the same, especially for independent games.

Bucky explained that every morning when he gets to the office, he spends half an hour browsing the new releases on Steam (both the "New & Popular" and "Upcoming" tabs) and adding some lesser-known games to his wishlist.

Bucky emphasized that although he is not against "playing large games and 3A games", he prefers to spend his time on independent games because he believes that "real innovation happens in independent games" and that independent games take less time to play.

Bucky knows it's "unrealistic" to ask players to play more indie games, but he "would do it anyway," so he gives a clear suggestion: "Go deep into Steam, give up the latest battle pass in your favorite AAA game, and use the money to buy a few cool indie games. You won't regret it."
