IT Home reported on July 24 that early this morning, Tesla released its Q2 financial report, with total revenue of US$25.5 billion (IT Home Note: currently approximately RMB 185.785 billion), a year-on-year increase of 2%; gross profit of US$4.578 billion (currently approximately RMB 33.354 billion), and a gross profit margin of 18%.

Tesla said that its new models (including cheap models) will start production and delivery in the first half of 2025. The new models will use new and existing platforms and can be produced on existing production lines. Therefore, their output will be less than previously expected, but it will also help to make full use of existing production capacity.

In addition, Musk confirmed that the release date of its upcoming self-driving car Robotaxi has been postponed from August 8 to October 10, which is consistent with the Bloomberg report, but Musk hinted that there will be "another thing" announced at the event.

As for Robotaxi, it also stated that FSD 12.5 will be launched soon. The company believes that the powerful functions will generate a large amount of demand. It is expected to obtain supervised autonomous driving license by the end of this year and realize manned operation next year.

In addition, Tesla Robotaxi will not cooperate with other manufacturers, and its services will be provided entirely by Tesla cars. This model pursues an "unboxed manufacturing strategy."

In terms of robots, Tesla plans to start production of Optimus V1 early next year and begin delivering it to customers later; it expects to produce thousands of units next year, and start external supply and production of Optimus V2 in 2026.

In terms of energy storage, Tesla's 4680 battery production increased by more than 50% in Q2 compared with Q1, and costs continued to improve. Megapack and Powerwall energy storage products achieved record deployment, with a total storage capacity of 9.4 GWh, a record high. The Shanghai Super Factory is ramping up smoothly and is expected to start production in the first quarter of next year.

In other aspects, Tesla will conduct more exploration and efforts on Dojo, and the company is confident that it can compete with Nvidia; the construction of the factory in Mexico will be postponed until after the election.

Tesla also mentioned that due to the EU's tariff increase, it will appropriately reduce the number of cars exported from Shanghai to Europe, while increasing the output of European factories. However, the models produced by the Shanghai Super Factory have significantly increased exports to overseas markets (such as South Korea). Cybertruck production has increased more than 3 times in a row and can still remain profitable by the end of the year.

In addition, Tesla's Berlin Gigafactory has begun producing right-hand drive cars and is preparing to export them to the UK. At the same time, the factory exports cars to Qatar and increases exports to some other markets in Israel.
