shanghai’s “old master” gives new teaching method
wang bin serves as the leader of the high school chinese teaching and research team for tibet at the shanghai experimental school in shigatse city, and is also responsible for the chinese teaching of the first grade class. he and his local colleagues analyzed that the chinese language test for the college entrance examination uses a national paper, which emphasizes testing students' comprehensive reading comprehension, literary appreciation ability and composition ability. in order to adapt to the new requirements, students need to train their thinking ability, increase their accumulation, and stimulate their interest in chinese learning.
to this end, in terms of in-class teaching, wang bin regularly organizes subject teachers to carry out teaching and research activities, and studies new teaching methods based on the new theories of chinese teaching under the current "double-new" background. he actively participated in the national training program in chinese and the cross-school joint teaching and research in shigatse city to improve classroom effectiveness and enhance students' core competencies and abilities in chinese, which was well received by local teachers. in addition, he also compiled a school-based resource library for high school chinese, including special reading comprehension training, literary knowledge points, composition ability building methods, etc. outside of class, he organized and guided the high school chinese language group to carry out the poetry recitation contest of "learning the twenty great poems to praise the party" and the essay contest with the theme of "recalling the prosperous years and strengthening the country to fulfill the mission", attracting students to actively participate.
although wang bin is fifty years old, he is still quite enthusiastic. he also donated 58 sets of "dream of red mansions" and local literature books to shanghai experimental school in shigatse city at his own expense, with the purpose of promoting students to read more and accumulate more. young colleagues were also infected by his enthusiasm and constantly improved their teaching methods. this year’s college entrance examination results were announced, and the school’s average chinese language score increased significantly.
serving the frontier fulfilled a youthful dream
when he was young, wang bin wanted to join the army, but due to various reasons, he was unable to do so. now that i have come to the border to support education, i have fulfilled my dream of joining the army in another way. every day, facing the sunshine, walking on the school avenue, looking at the tall statue of "shanghai-tibet heart-to-heart", and listening to the students reading aloud in the square, wang bin felt a sense of satisfaction.
"i'm not bragging. although i'm older, i'm in the healthiest shape." wang bin rarely needs oxygen and still maintains his hobby of playing basketball. in may this year, he represented shigatse city in the senior five-a-side basketball competition in the tibet autonomous region trials of the first national fitness competition (southwestern region) and won third place. sports is a universal language that enhances friendship. wang bin's cheerful and cheerful personality has won a reputation among local teachers and students in shigatse.
wang bin's enthusiasm for the cause of aiding tibet made the work go more smoothly. he was paired with jigme dorje, a young teacher at shanghai experimental school in shigatse city, to help him thrive in education and teaching. today, jigme dorje has become the backbone of high school chinese teaching at shanghai experimental school in shigatse city and serves as the deputy director of the teaching service office of the high school department. wang bin also visited yadong, tingri, gyantse, dingye, nyingchi, and shannan many times for inspection and research, sent teachers to the countryside, and gave special lectures at the beijing experimental school in lhasa to contribute to the development of tibetan language education.
