agricultural products with plateau characteristics have a high market share and enhanced competitiveness. in terms of exports, coffee and fresh-cut flowers ranked first in the country, vegetables and chinese medicinal materials rose in the rankings, and the value of fruits also increased. in terms of imports, bulbs and sugar cane rank first in the country, chinese medicinal materials have increased significantly, and many types of fruits have obvious advantages.

it has a large share advantage in surrounding markets and is expanding rapidly in developed markets. in the first eight months, yunnan's top five agricultural export markets were vietnam, thailand, myanmar, indonesia, and belgium, with a total export of 8.21 billion yuan, accounting for more than 60% of the province's exports. the top five import sources are thailand, brazil, vietnam, myanmar, and laos, with a total import of 18.38 billion yuan, accounting for 92.7% of the province's total. in addition, yunnan province’s trade with japan, south korea, europe, north america, south america and other countries and regions has increased significantly. in the first eight months, yunnan province performed well in exporting agricultural products to belgium, germany, the united states, the netherlands, and south korea, and its imports from the netherlands, france, argentina, canada, japan, and other countries all achieved significant growth.

in the next step, the provincial department of commerce will focus on four key points to further consolidate and expand yunnan province’s agricultural product trade advantages. focus on specialty commodities, continue to expand the trade scale of specialty agricultural products such as fruits, vegetables, flowers, and coffee, focus on market demand, and increase the trade scale of potential agricultural products; promote the import of durian, mangosteen, longan and other fruits, as well as medicinal and edible commodities such as dahaizi, and promote the processing and development of imported goods traded among border residents has been implemented. we will focus on pilot bases, guide qujing city, yuxi city, dali bai autonomous prefecture and other agricultural product export pilot areas to comprehensively accelerate the construction, and coordinate with the agricultural department to strengthen the construction of foreign trade transformation and upgrading bases and high-quality agricultural international trade development bases. we will do a good job in trade services, promote the construction of a comprehensive service platform for agricultural products, coordinate various support policies at all levels, and provide a "one product, one policy" solution to reduce logistics costs. focus on market expansion, use exhibition activities to expand agricultural product trade docking channels, and promote cloud products to go overseas.
