zhu chenggang:i have been practicing medicine for more than 30 years. i joined wuxi hongqiao hospital in september 2020. this year is already my fourth year. not long after i joined the company, i discovered that the hospital had some "edge-stepping" behaviors in using medical insurance funds, but later these actions became more blatant. i believe that i was not the only doctor in the hospital to discover it.

zhu chenggang: my second report has been delayed for half a year with no substantial results. in fact, last year i reported similar problems to hongqiao hospital for the first time.

zhu chenggang: i won’t care about other departments for now. as far as our radiology department is concerned, although the hospital requires the test results to be available within 2 hours of taking the radiograph, we can issue the report within 10 minutes at the fastest. i think this speed must be ranked among the hospitals in the city. the forefront. our department does not have sufficient staff, and we have to face so many patients every day. we can only do this by improving the efficiency of diagnosis and treatment and speeding up the pace of work.

however, our hard work did not earn us the respect we deserve from the hospital. our department's business volume was not the smallest in the hospital, but everyone's treatment was the lowest. in this way, i was often picked on by the hospital and made trouble.

the paper: what is the main conflict you are referring to with the hospital?

zhu chenggang: mainly because the hospital disrespects the doctors. we get paid for our labor from the hospital, but the hospital thinks it's natural to exploit us. some people can tolerate hospital exploitation, but others don't. i think i have nothing to do with the hospital, and i can't stand hongqiao hospital's methods of forcing doctors to resign.

the illegal behavior of wuxi hongqiao hospital is not simply insurance fraud. for example, there was a period in 2023 when the hospital directly issued a document canceling national statutory holidays. because of this reason, many employees voluntarily resigned. during the recruitment process, many applicants stopped coming when they heard there were no statutory holidays. in the end, staff turnover affected the stable development of the hospital, and the relevant policies were abolished.

zhu chenggang: so far, i have not received any notification from the hospital. but i thought since the hospital didn’t notify me or go through the formalities for me, i would still be a formal employee of the hospital.

i heard from other colleagues that some employees were notified by the hospital to sign a lay-off agreement. during this period, the hospital paid five social insurances and one housing fund, as well as a salary to ensure basic living standards. there are also some employees who are unwilling to sign this agreement and simply resign.
