"are there any injured people among you? make sure your cell phones are charged, find a sheltered place and don't move. we are on the way." at around 20:00 on september 23, the yanqi fire rescue station in huairou district received a report of people getting lost in the mountains. the fire station immediately dispatched a car with seven people to the scene. on the way, li lin, deputy station chief of the yanqi fire station, reminded the trapped people to pay attention to safety over the phone and further inquired about the situation on the scene.
li lin learned that the five trapped people, four men and one woman, saw the hiking route on the internet and started climbing the mountain according to the route early in the morning. however, since it was their first time climbing the mountain, they were not very familiar with the route and deviated from it during the climb. they had no choice but to call the police.
at 20:46, the fire rescue personnel arrived at the foot of the mountain according to the mobile phone location sent by the trapped people, and then took rescue equipment and warm clothes and went up the mountain with a local guide to search. it was pitch black in the mountain, the temperature was low, about 7 degrees celsius, and there was a wind of level 5 or 6. if the trapped people were not found in time, they would be in danger of hypothermia.
the rescuers shouted as they walked in the mountain, and used strong flashlights to send "signals", but they did not get a response from the five trapped people. at 23:44, the rescuers had reached the top of the mountain, and then checked the latest location reported by the caller. the map showed that the distance to the trapped people was more than 800 meters away in a straight line. considering that the map distance had a large error in the mountains, and the location was shown on a nearby mountain, the rescuers had to open up a new mountain road to search.
"we are here!" at 3:20 a.m. on the 24th, the rescuers finally got a response after calling over and over again. at this time, the trapped people shouted while using their mobile phone flashlights to send "signals" to the rescuers.
the rescuers quickly reached the location of the trapped people. five trapped people were squatting under a rock. no one was injured. the rescuers took out emergency food for the five trapped people to replenish their strength. after a brief rest, everyone started to walk down the mountain.
the trapped people were physically exhausted after walking in the mountains for a long time and walked slowly. after 6 hours of going down the mountain, the rescuers successfully escorted the five trapped people to the foot of the mountain at 9:28 am on the 24th.
huairou fire department reminds citizens and tourists not to blindly follow the mountaineering routes on the internet, especially in undeveloped and unopened areas such as wild mountains. try not to climb wild mountains without experience, equipment, and companions. if you encounter a danger alarm, you must clearly state the route you are climbing and your location.
