dong yisan told reporters that during the summer vacation, the "building dreams and seeking light, passing on the torch" social practice group of the school of computer science and technology of qingdao university actively responded to the call of the "three going to the countryside" social practice activities in the summer of 2024. under the leadership of two teachers, 10 students went to shibei district, licang district and chengyang district and other places to carry out a 10-day patriotism education theme practice to cultivate patriotism, strengthen the will to make the country strong, and practice serving the country.

on july 15, under the guidance of the team instructor, the practice team first went to the qingdao revolutionary martyrs memorial hall to learn about the heroic deeds of the revolutionary predecessors. the weathered cultural relics, the images that freeze the history, and the vivid sculptures of characters made the team members feel the loyalty of the revolutionary martyrs to the people. afterwards, the practice team went to the qingdao party history memorial hall, visited the former site of the qingdao local branch of the communist party of china, the basic exhibition hall and the special exhibition hall, and watched a large number of documents and historical objects on site to pursue the red memory, relive the glorious years, and continue the red gene.

the practice team members also went to qingdao qingshi co., ltd. in chengyang district. under the guidance of the staff, they visited the company's development history, development purpose, cultural wall and qingshi calcium milk biscuits production line, observed the biscuit shaping, baking and packaging process, witnessed the high-standard "craftsman spirit" and the company's continuous charity actions, and felt that "qingshi" has developed from a local brand in qingdao and shandong to a nationally renowned time-honored brand, and has written responsibility with patriotic feelings.

in order to implement patriotic feelings into daily actions, the practice team members went to the xinghe charity vegetarian restaurant in badaxia community, shibei district, qingdao city for practice. the team members carefully washed and cut vegetables. after lunch was ready, the team members had clear division of labor. some students took care of the elderly who were dining in the restaurant, and some students delivered meals to the elderly with limited mobility. after the meal, the students also conducted social surveys on patriotism in the community, interviewed the masses, and explored their understanding of patriotic education.

"since 2019, this restaurant has been providing free lunch for elderly people living alone, widowed or disabled, and has been doing so for many years. the restaurant's service staff are very patient and enthusiastic! especially for elderly people with limited mobility, this restaurant has always insisted on delivering meals to them for free. i was very touched at the time, and felt that this behavior was really being implemented for people in need. as young people, we should also contribute more to this society." dong yisan talked about her feelings at the time. by delivering meals to the elderly, she had more respect for the founders and service staff of the charity restaurant and their persistent dedication.

in addition to taking care of the elderly, the practice team members also interacted with the children. they went to the eighth branch of shangyuan kindergarten in licang district, qingdao city, and gave a vivid patriotism education class to more than 100 children in the kindergarten. the team members taught the children the origin of the communist party of china, the national flag and the national emblem, and learned to sing the national anthem with the children and learn about the deeds of heroes. with the help of kindergarten teachers, the members and the children made patriotic crafts and gave out carefully prepared small gifts, hoping that the children would plant patriotism in their hearts and practice it.

finally, the practice team members went to fushan road subdistrict in licang district to hold a national defense knowledge quiz with prizes, which attracted more than 100 children to actively participate. the team members carefully designed small questions related to patriotism education for the children in advance, and helped the children to cultivate patriotism through interesting questions and answers.
