the paper: can you describe the schedule of a certain day when the school leaders stay in the dormitory?
yu jianxing：at that time, the teachers were not at work yet. some school leaders had their offices on the jiaogong road campus. during the trial stay, they sometimes went to the office, but we spent most of the day walking around the campus, including dormitories, sports fields, classrooms, lecture rooms, laboratories, etc., to check the infrastructure. we had lunch and dinner in the cafeteria, and we had them at different times to get a feel for the amount of food at different times. we also told the cafeteria aunt to prepare more food for the children after school started. don't be afraid of losses, the school will give subsidies, but we must not let the children feel that there are not enough dishes.
the paper: which dormitory did you live in and how did you feel during those nights?
yu jianxing: i live in room 217, building 16. to be honest, i am 57 years old and my old bones are tossing and turning on the hard bed. it is difficult to fall asleep (laughing). i am not used to it. so we are committed to improving the learning and living conditions of students at school.
the paper: some people believe that "young people should endure a little hardship" and don't need to care too much about the accommodation conditions of college students. what do you think?
yu jianxing：young people must endure hardships in order to grow, but the scenes of hardship for young people today are different from those of our generation. young people today do not need to suffer in terms of food, accommodation and transportation - we endured hardships when we were young so that our descendants would not have to endure the same hardships.
the paper: during the stay-in experience, what problems did the school leaders discover and what measures did they take?
yu jianxing: on the first day, we found 30 problems when we inspected the infrastructure and proposed rectification suggestions. for example, there was a crack in the runway and a gap in the steps, which needed to be repaired; a hook needed to be added somewhere in the dormitory; and all the faucets that did not flow water normally were labeled. the library has not been fully renovated yet, so i can't check it carefully, but i feel there is room for improvement, such as enough sockets, and functional areas such as self-study and reading areas, seminar areas, and reading areas. some other problems may only be exposed after students study and live for a while. more than 1,300 students have moved in, and there is no obvious lack of work so far.
