during the 2024 beijing summit of the forum on china-africa cooperation, umar ndiaye, a special correspondent for the sun, told our reporter this.
for ndiaye, china is not a strange country. this is his third visit to china for an interview. he told reporters that the thiès-touba expressway built by chinese companies connects thiès, the second largest city in senegal, and touba, an important city, facilitating people's travel and promoting connectivity between different regions in senegal. the fangjuni bridge, also designed and constructed by chinese companies, is the longest bridge in senegal. it has now become one of the main roads connecting the north and south of senegal, and an important transportation node to neighboring countries. the senegalese competitive wrestling arena built with chinese assistance is the first competitive wrestling arena in africa, which has promoted the development of sports in senegal. china has also provided assistance to senegal in the construction of cultural infrastructure such as museums, which has greatly enriched the cultural life of the senegalese people.
