on september 4, a video circulated online showed that "a police car crossed the solid line, changed lanes, and fled after hitting a car." our bureau attached great importance to this and immediately launched an investigation and verification. the relevant situation is now reported as follows:

at about 13:00 on september 4, our police officer zhang was driving a police car while on duty. when passing the intersection of puyang road and fangfei road, he changed lanes to the left to avoid the vehicle in front of him on the right, and crossed the solid line and scraped against the car on the left rear. because the scrape was minor, zhang did not notice the accident and continued to the destination to perform his duties. neither party called the police.

after visits, investigations, inspections, and judicial appraisal by a third-party agency, it was found that when the accident occurred, the police car was traveling at a speed of 30-35 (km/h), not exceeding the speed limit (the speed limit on this section of road is 40km/h), and there was a slight scratch on the left rear wheel arch of the police car; there was a slight scratch on the right front fender of the other vehicle, and the collision sound and impact of the two vehicles were relatively slight. the noise and vibration generated by the front vehicle itself when driving were able to cover the collision sound and impact, and the vibrations of the front vehicle's seat and steering wheel in the longitudinal, lateral, and vertical directions did not reach the driver's perception threshold, thus ruling out the possibility of the driver fleeing the scene of the traffic accident.

on the afternoon of the 4th, a reporter from zonglan news called the chengdu public security bureau to inquire about the situation. afterwards, a dujiangyan traffic police officer contacted the reporter and said that after confirmation, the police car in the video belonged to dujiangyan and it did change lanes across the solid line. currently, they are gradually verifying the location of the incident, the trajectory of the vehicle, whether there was a collision, and whether the police car was on duty at the time.
