on september 3, 2024, chinese ambassador to the united states xie feng delivered a video speech at the opening ceremony of the "remember the heroes-flying tigers theme historical photo tour (nanjing)".

xie feng said that on september 12 last year, president xi jinping wrote back to green, chairman of the u.s.-china aviation heritage foundation, and flying tigers veterans moyer and mcmullen, highly praising the historical contributions of the flying tigers in assisting china in the war of resistance against japanese aggression and the deep friendship forged between the two peoples, and hoped that the spirit of the flying tigers would be passed on from generation to generation between the two peoples.

nearly 80 years after the end of world war ii, china is still assisting in the search for the remains of american soldiers who aided china. nearly 500 flying tigers veterans and hundreds of their families have visited china. we welcome flying tigers veterans to visit china and reminisce about the past. we support the "flying tigers friendship school and youth leadership program" to participate in the implementation of president xi jinping's initiative to "invite 50,000 american youth to china for exchanges and studies in the next five years." in addition to nanjing, this photo exhibition will also be held in changting, changsha and other places. we look forward to more similar activities held in the united states by institutions such as the us-china aviation heritage foundation, telling the "flying tigers story" well, continuing the "flying tigers friendship", and continuing to play an active role in promoting exchanges and deepening friendship between the chinese and american people.
