xiao zuxian was born in 1996 in an ordinary working-class family in jiansheng town, dadukou district. when she was 2 years old, a sudden car accident left her in a coma in the intensive care unit for a full six months. after waking up, the doctor diagnosed that all the motor nerves on the right side of her body were damaged, making it impossible for her to walk and move like a healthy person, leaving her disabled.

in 2016, you jianbo, coach of chongqing disabled persons training team, went to dadukou to select athletes. among the many applicants, the coach took a fancy to xiao zuxian at first sight. with xiao zuxian's hard training, everything was not in vain. in 2018, xiao zuxian won the first place in the women's singles sl3 of the national disabled badminton championships and the sports morality and style award of the national disabled badminton championships; in 2019, she won the first place in the badminton singles of the 10th paralympic games. in the 4th asian para games in hangzhou in 2023, she won the first gold medal for chongqing in this asian para games.
