Minister of Education Huai Jinpeng: China attaches great importance to international cooperation in digital education and is willing to provide support for strengthening digital education teacher training

On August 26, the 7th ASEAN-China-Japan-ROK Education Ministers' Meeting and the 7th East Asia Summit Education Ministers' Meeting were held in Thailand. The theme of this meeting was "Education Reform in the Digital Age", and Minister of Education Huai Jinpeng delivered a video speech.

Huai Jinpeng pointed out that with the in-depth development of a new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation, digital technology has increasingly profoundly influenced human thinking, production and lifestyle, and promoted the all-round reshaping and development of the economy and society. In particular, digital transformation and artificial intelligence have become important carriers and development directions for educational reforms worldwide. The Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee emphasized the need to promote the digitalization of education, empower the construction of a learning society, and strengthen lifelong education guarantees, which further pointed out the direction for the development of digital education in China.

Huai Jinpeng said that China attaches great importance to international cooperation in digital education and is willing to work with ASEAN and related countries to promote the connection of digital education policies, explore the sharing of digital education resources, strengthen the construction of the "Digital Asian Campus", and jointly promote digital education reform. China is willing to provide support for strengthening digital education teacher training, jointly embrace the opportunities of digital education, add new impetus to regional education friendly cooperation and global education governance, and inject positive energy into the prosperity and stability of Asia.
