On August 23, a "walking ideological and political class" was held in Weixin County, Zhaotong City, an old revolutionary base. 1,799 freshmen from the cooperative school of Luzhou Tianli Weixin No. 1 Middle School participated in on-site teaching activities on national defense knowledge and revolutionary tradition education. Teachers and students walked 10 kilometers in 3 hours and received revolutionary tradition education in the walking ideological and political classroom.
At 7 a.m., accompanied by the departure order, the marching team strode forward. "Please rest assured, the Party will make the country strong!" "Grasp the youth, work hard, look to the future, and surpass yourself!" With the sonorous slogans, the students marched along Zhaxi Avenue, passing Zhaxi Red Army Square, Zhaxi Old Street, Zhaxi Conference Site, High-speed Railway Station and other places, feeling the red memory and prestige engraved by the revolutionary ancestors step by step.
At about 8 am, after an hour's walk, the team successfully arrived at the Zhaxi Red Army Square. Some freshmen representatives went to the Zhaxi Red Army Martyrs Cemetery to pay tribute to the martyrs with wreaths. With deep sorrow for the revolutionary martyrs, everyone stood in front of the monument, bowed their heads in silence, and expressed their deep remembrance and respect for the martyrs.
After a short break, the team followed the footsteps of the revolutionary predecessors, passed through Zhaxi Old Street, and walked into the Zhaxi Conference Site to relive the magnificent history of revolutionary struggle. Along the way, although the students were tanned and sweaty by the hot sun, no one fell behind, sang red cultural songs, and cheered each other on. It took 3 and a half hours for the students to successfully complete the round trip of more than 10 kilometers and return to school.
"We used to only learn about the glorious deeds of revolutionary predecessors in textbooks. Today, I follow in their footsteps and feel more deeply the spirit of the Red Army's Long March. In the future, we must study hard, strive to become the new youth of the era, and work tirelessly for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation." said Wang Helin, a senior high school student.
According to reports, this on-site teaching activity combines the "walking ideological and political classroom" with the red cultural resources of Weixin County. It not only allows students to have an in-depth understanding of the red historical culture and urban development achievements of Weixin County, but also integrates the road under their feet and the spirit and strength in their perceptions into a new course, so that the red culture can truly enter the eyes, ears, brains, and hearts, and the red gene can be passed on from generation to generation.
